Taking a break from the wee tiny minions, I set about to paint up the large mass of plastic known as the citidel modular gaming hill. So after a day of painting and a night of gluing on foliage, here it is and now I'll return to the dev detachment that needs it's bases completed.

As you can tell the thing is rather massive.

Actually, I can't tell. I guess I need something else in the pic for reference. Looks really good, though.

The third pic has a stand of terminators on the top center.

Ah, so it does! They are so small in comparison that I didn't even notice them.

Hard to believe it's been so long since I did any of this. I guess it just shows how badly my terrain making has been lacking these days. Anyway, starting last week I decided to paint up some of the hills and rocky outcroppings I've had for some time. The first up was the revamping of the hills found in the Starsiege Rebellion box set. They were alright but they needed a bit of variation to spice them up. Then, this week a friend and I spent a good deal of time working up the small GW hill I've had and a couple of rock outcroppings. I'm not entirely pleased with the flocking on the small hill, but I can probably do a few washes of green to blend it a bit more later after the varnish and glue cures. Now back to the mechs.

I really should get around to doing that with my GW hills.

Nice work mate, they look good, they are a pain to paint, so much of them, they are huge. I have one four piece one to go and I am done with them. Keep churning out the terrain mate.

Cheers
Aaron

Thanks! Yeah, they can be a pain to paint. The large hill was the worst because it took the entire work table which made it hard to rotate. What I've been doing on these is using some thinned down almost water craft paints. dab the color in place with one brush and then blend with a second. Seems to go pretty quickly and gets really nice results.

Very cool hills Vaaish!
I like the hills in the bottom of the second photo
good uses of different flocking types .
I might have to try that.
