Hi everyone! Thought I'd show my terrain making in here as well and not just in my 6mm thread. I've been working on some jungle terrain the last few days. I wanted a kind of extra-terrestrial look so I added no ordinary trees but rather just big plants. I like it my self and think it does the part. I showed it to my wife who's my test panel for stuff I'm a little unsure about. She didn't think it look like a jungle but just some strange overgrown plants. What do you fellow taccommers think? Could this go for an extra-terrestrial jungle? ![]() ![]() Cheers! |

Definitely, it works really well. My problem with realistic jungles though is they're a pain on the table top. Getting stands to fit in them is annoying. Basing clumps of trees of 60mm bases and removing them when units need to occupy the jungle works pretty well in my experience though. |

That does look really good. I'd echo Dave in that it will be hard to maneuver stands in/out of that during a game - you might want to use them in clumps that you can move around a terrain 'base'. It looks like you have enough of an edge around the base for units to gain cover on the edge of the jungle - then you could just call the middle "impassable terrain" as jungles often are just that... Is it plastic aquarium stuff? |

One solution is to make it impossible terrain like you say CaptPiett or I could just make another base the same size paint it green so you can replace the forest when entered. About the plants no it's actually not aquarium plants (could just as well have been though) but rather plastic flowers/plants from one of Swedens biggest flower/planting stores, plantagen. They're much cheaper there than if you go to an pet store to buy the aquarium stuff. ![]() cheers |
