It occurred to me that epic gamers seem to make very small terrain. So i deced to make some big terrain, while its not practical to make 2 meter tall sections of hive innards, 50-80cm tall looks like a good hieght. To achieve this swiftly and at the minimum expense i propose the use of square flowerpots. You can get 100 for a few £ and even with the larger ones counted in i think a 70cm tower will cost less than £2. Poly-cement sticks to them so they will be easy to detail. I need to go out and buy a lot more pots, but a brief play about with a few looked like this, so i think the concept will work: ![]() ![]() ![]() Hopefully ill make enough to cover a table, with a lot of gantry and walkways to cut the LOS corridors. A large fly-over motorway 20cm or so off the ground on arched supports would be cool as well. |

Good concept. If you can store it, why the heck not?! |

Looks like Necromunda on a very small (very large?) scale... Ought to make for some interesting battles. |

Yep, like necromunda but for titans, combat on lots of different levels ![]() Currently wondering what it'll be best to paint them with, emulsion, spray or poster paint mixed with PVA, hopefully ill be able to get a test tower made up this coming weekend. |

Wow. very clever. Looks great ![]() I'd lightly sand the surface for better adhesion, spray undercoat and then use brush-on textured paint. |

Depending on low light/flimsy the plant pots are you might want to back the holes with plasticard and then fill the whole pot with spray foam to give them some strength. Great idea though. |

Hey, I wanted to go for a tall building setting with catwalks/bridges for some urban setting too ! Anyway, the amount of projects I have and the speed of my work means you'll probably have finished your work long before I even start (I at least need to learn to cast some modular building design before, anyway; detailing a shell doesn't work well for me). I'll keep an eye on your work, specially as the level of quality you usually achieve is quite inspiring. Your "proof of concept" setting is already quite interesting to see, congratulations ! |

Carrington wrote: Now that looks like a city Not sure, i think maybe it was a bit small? so i tried a meter tall tower instead. Ive got abut half the pots needed so far, it'll be a 4x3 grid of towers (no space for more). the big pots are for aquatic plants, and come with many small square perforations, perfect epic scale skyscraper windows ![]() Quote: I think such a terrain might need special rules on moving within buildings Yep ive got some fun ideas for hive fight rules modifications. ![]() |

I like it and I dont like it. I think it looks very cool and think it works, but the one thing I dont like is all that and not really much space to play. I hope you know what I am talking about. I might think about opening it up a bit. the buildings are so close. I think you have a very cool start to a very unique and awesome game table. Please take this as contstructive critisism. |
