Because our winters are long, boring and cold, I had some time to work on objectives for my Space Marines and Tau.  Collectively, they took about three months to do, but in reality, maybe about 10-15 hours apiece -- the hardest part was just finding the time outside of work and social obligations. ÂÂ
I had no Plastruct or sheet styrene, just some 25mm and 30mm square bases from Fantasy to use as a core, and lots of Fix-It (which has now replaced Green Stuff as my weapon of choice).
I have modeled both sculpts after the main bases from Dawn of War and Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. ÂÂ
First, the Tau base:

The Tau base is acutally three parts -- the core base, the "generator" at the top (a.k.a 40K gun/shield drone) and the tower at the back of the base.
And next, the Space Marine base:

I know the Space Marine base is a little "stubby" compared to the DoW version, but once I realized I had shorted myself, I didn't feel like going back and fixing it.  This guy is one solid piece.
