This post is prompted from my viewing of the latest tyranid terrain pieces; I was wondering if anyone had any larger pieces of terrain, or perhaps I should say sprawling pieces, complete towns, entire tyranid hives or even whole tables of modelled terrain.

BTW both the tyranid terrain posts are very nice, legion - where'd you collect all of that from?

Here's a pic of an Epic Fortress I made, using 40k Cities of Death pieces, necromunda bulkheads, Hexagon & Platformer terrain sets, plus 40k, Epic, Exodus Wars and Dark Realm Miniatures pieces:

It was featured in the battle-report in the latest SG supplement of Firebase, so you may have seen it...

I cheated a bit in the Nid terrain - I use 40K terrain from FW (a spore chimney) for my smaller Nids as well. And I own a Tau University (of all things!) - hope I can dig up the pics as this is in 'deep' storage (i.e. at the bottom of the completed stuff stores).

Kotrin (who plays NetEpic) has some of the best terrain I've ever seen, including a Squat fortress that puts other's terrain to shame - and that is hard to do given the creative juices flowing on this board.

His Tau city is fantastic.

My single largest piece of terrain is part of my City terrain system. Basically I wanted to create the layered effect made possible with modular boards without actually having to build an enture modular board. To do this the piece needed to be about 60x60 cm so I could raise the terrain to a certain level without it looking like everything was made on a hill.

Thats a nice fortress, big impressive and industrial. Wish I could play with that sort of terrain, always makes a game better.

Are there any images of Kotrin's terrain?

Here's a pretty good example of the sprawling city you were mentioning.  Of course, it's modern, not 40K, but still pretty good:
