I thought I would start a thread for pictures of my terrain projects and in game shots. ?I don't typically have the time (or patience) for a turn by turn battle report, but do enjoy taking in game pictures. ?So this will be part terrain projects and part in game pictures.

I enjoy looking at the nicely done terrain here on the board and getting ideas for more projects. ?Hopefully someone might get some ideas from my postings as well.

The following pictures were taking at Con of the North Feb 15th - 17th in St Paul Minnesota. ?We didn't schedule an Epic game in the convention program but ran a pick up game Friday night. ? Five of us played, it was Black Legion (3000pts) and Orks (3000pts) vs Space Marines (3000pts) and Imperial Guard (3000pts), plus each side had a couple Titans. ?We borrowed from Apocalypse and each side placed 3 objectives, whoever controlled the most at games end would be the winner. ?Unfortunatly, we started late and called the game shortly into turn 3. ?I believe the Imperials held more objectives at that point, but who's counting.

Board set up

Other end board set up

The Imperials (on the right) try to get moving after Chaos/Orks won first turn initiative and broke the Basilisk artillery company on the very first activation when the Banelord launched it's entire Havok Missile rack at them.

The center of the Chaos/Ork battle line:

Orks and Chaos take the refinery:

Reaver and Gargant square off across the river:

The Phantoms Space Marines advance on the crossroads objective:

Mass carnage in the center as both sides pour more troops into the battle:

The Regimental HQ, lead by Inquisitor Hothmiller (count as Supreme Commander) and supported by a Super Heavy Tank Company, assaults the objective bridge leading to the refinery:

The Banelord passes by the center refinery with it's eye on the Regimental HQ at the bridge:

More pics can be seen here.

Also pictures of the other games we ran at Con of the North, which included our 7th annual 40K Rogue Trader Tournament, can be viewed here.

Thanks for the comments.  The refinery pieces are made by Armorcast.  Refinery page link.

They are marketed for 25mm but work perfectly for 6mm as they are very scale neutral.  I think one piece has a 25mm boom box somewhere on the base, but it's hardly noticable (and could be removed).   We use the stuff for 40K & Inquisitor and it looks good, but when you use if for Epic it looks like a proper massive refinery complex.

They have some nice terrain. I'll have to keep them in mind.

so the refinery is the old armorcast stuff...

is it possible to get a close up shot of the imperial warlord, i can see it in the background and it looks similar to an idea i want to try...
