Hey all ? ?I've just bought this kit with the intention of making some 40k/Sci-fi terrain pieces out of it, principally a crashed space-craft. ?Here it is, the Revell Republic Star Destroyer:

I must admit I was surprised what a great kit this is. ?I've got a couple of the Star Wars 'Easy Kits' for the express purpose of hacking them to bits and making terrain pieces out of (I've seen this done on another forum), so I was unprepared for the level of detail on it. ?The detail is so great infact, that I will use it for some Epic-scale terrain pieces! ?I've included some miniatures to give you an idea of the scale:

I figured if I cut the main body of the ship in to a number of pieces it could easily represent the fragments of a crashed ship (a bit like the BfM crashed Aquila).
Then there's the additional parts, such as the thrusters could be useful in industrial terrain pieces:

But the even smaller details are perfect for Epic pieces:

This is a very nice kit - it' so nice infact that I'd like to get some more of these kits for more terrain pieces - and even to make the actual model, it's so good! ?I just thought this might give somebody some useful ideas, thanks for looking! ?

Shame to use that as terrain, actually - too nice to not build it as it should be.

How cool would that be as a crashed spaceship in EA games!

Very nice model. Revell do some nice kits.
Much better than the airfix WWII battleship I got for turrets for my titan legion. No detail at all
Can't wait to see what you do with it, so I can steal the idea.

Schweet. I'd probably chop up those detailed bits and add them to industrial buildings.
