Hi Folks,
My terrain thread had been put on hold for a while due to less hobby time, The building i had produced where the first moulds i had ever done with silicone, they gave a very good finish indeed with all detail following through into the fished building,
But as they where my first i was just happy to get a finished product out of them, There was a hell of a lot of excess flash to cut out which added loads of time to making the buildings, so with some time to get some hobby work done I have decided to make the old cathedral building design more modular and also take the advantange to re do the towers aswell to cut down on the flash,
It was not just thin flash it was thick and really took some cutting....
The picture below shows my new design for the building wall section, its basically two sides glued together to add length and also i have filled the windows so they will be like the tower windows..

Next was to look at the ends, with this a part of the cathedral was di sected, it will be the building end but also modular so can be used in a few ways, one been two wall side with an end on each, the other a wall section with the end in the middle with another wall on the end, that way i can have a flat roof at each end with a pitched roof in the middle. the picture below sort of shows what i mean .. well sort of

The following pics just show the casting boxes they where just from an old water colour paint set i had but they are sturdy and provide a nice flat surface to glue the bits to, the other picture shows my old tower mould, still good but the new one will save me a lot of time

With some new silicone on the way fingers crossed they will end up as good as the last ones quality wise but just better designed.
Will updates some pics on the casting process and the finsed buildings when done,
Regards epic
