On a related note, is that density of terrain suitable for E:A? I'd have thought that a somewhat more open battlefield was required. Certainly the few games I've so far played have all been sparse on the terrain.

Kim and I are big fans of using lots of terrain for all wargames as we like manouvering around terrain to trying to set up good possitions to defend/attack from during our games.  We both play armylists that have developed when generally playing on quite dense terrain and all our games seem to run smoothly and be lots of fun.  I have tried my lists on some quite open tables and they have still gone well but I guess some lists would struggle when they can't take advantage of their range in dense terrain.

I think it is just a personal preference issue rather than a game mechanic setting a good level.

Working on some more terrain for Epic Assault.

http://www.westgamer.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2386

I was originally going to do this with snow all over everything to make it match Kim's Eldar but I don't think it would improve on how its turned out so far (I actually think it would end up looking worse).  So I am going to leave it like this.  A second one is sitting on my bench ready to paint when I have some time tonight.

And another urban ruin block is finished.

I am just wishing that I owned a games store or something so I could make a 6x4 fully modelled terrain table like that and a set of backdrops attached with hinges that can be flipped up for taking photos...... that would be ultimate!

Then I would have the space to do my port games table with 1/300 battleship in dock, that would definitely rock.

Ooh... we all have dreams like these... I'd like to make a Board for Epic/DRM/Exodus Wars with a big crashed space ship right in the middle...

Who knows, I might just do that... :;): :)

Really superb terrain, Mark!

Cheers guys.

I am really please with how they turned out.  I am finding it much easier to do intersting and nice looking basing on the rural terrain,  don't really know how to get a decent variation of colouring into my urban tiles.  I have started adding a few of the extra pine trees to some but it just doesn't seem to be enough.

Any ideas on how to break them up a little?

I am actually thinking of just using cut out cereal box painted to the same effect to make my road sections.  If you paint the shiney picture side it actually looks quite good (I have used it stuck down on some of my objective bases as roads.  That way I can just slide them underneith the ends of the terrain pieces so they join nicely (as the roads end in curved sections on the bases).

I haven't thought of how I could do some nice looking fields.  Can't really think of any good ideas for doing them at this time on a monday night.

How do you stop the cardboard from warping?  I've ended up using plastic card for all my city tiles and it's getting kinda exy.

A relatively inexpensive source for something like plasticard is "For Sale" signs.
