Hello all,

As you know I trashed all the fluff I had already built for my chapter (Black Griffons) and have started from scratch all over again. Yeah, quite a thing to do, I know, but I plan to reuse some of the fluff for this new project :p

The new chapter is being designed around the 4 elements, fire, water, air and earth. Each one of them has 2 companies belonging to it, with the first and 10th companies (Helios and Selene) being divided more or less evenly among them as support teams.

Now, I need a name for the chapter. It is a crusading chapter with 8 strike cruisers and 2 battle barges, one of them (the Gloria Imperialis) being an old venerable (chaos) battle barge recovered from a space hulk. The other (Chiron) named after the centaur that teached Aquiles.

So as you can see from the previous paragraph and the ones that follow (where I will outline the companies) you can see that I am building the force around greek mythology and the 4 elements. But I still need a name. Children of Gaia and Chapter Jovovich have already been discarded, so do not come up with them, please ;) Any help in this endeavour would be welcomed. Now the companies:

IGNEM COMPANIES (Fire)
- Assault companies. prefer to bring the fight to the face of the enemy. Not always meaning H2H, but all of them are acomplished H2H fighters. Specialize in drop pod and infiltration assaults.

Company names: Hephaestus and Ares


AQUAM AND AURAM (Water and Air)
- Tactical companies. Nothing really special about them. The principle is that those elements can destroy anything through time, and that natural disasters of them (tsunamis and hurricanes) can unleash quite some devastation on the enemies of the emperor. Those elements can also be found everywhere, so quite a few of them excel at infiltration. The 2 air companies (ecuador and eolus) have slightly more assault marines than the water companies (poseidon and egeus) but they are more or less matched.

Company Names: Ecuador, Eolus, Poseidon and Egeus


TERRAM (Earth)
Devastator companies. Patience and surefooted-ness. Pummel the enemy into oblivion, until he is but dust. Specialize in siege warfare and razing whole areas to nothingness. Mischief and swiftness is for the weak. Massive use of ordenance.

Company names: Hera and Gea.


All this is strictly WIP, but there you get the idea. Any ideas about possible names?

Not sure how helpful this is but the generally accepted names for the elementals are:
gnomes-earth, sylphs-air, undines-water and salamanders-fire (the latter already used as a chapter name :D )
how about:
Nemesis (called Rhamnusia, the "goddess of Rhamnus", at her sanctuary in Rhamnus), in Greek mythology, is the spirit of divine retribution, vengeful fate personified as a remorseless goddess.

I think I will go with Elementals of Olympus in the end, or something like that. We will see. Great answers you all, and thanks for that greek mythology link. Wikipedia certainly rules! :D Looks like I will be absorving/remembering some greek legends during the next weeks :p
