Well I've finally lost it. I admit it: Megalomania has taken over the body of Warmaster Nice ?:p

I've been doing some counting with the models I have -Painted as well as unpainted and reached the conclusion that I can field the entire Ultramarines Chapter if I stretch the fluff just a tiny bit. I just wanted to hear your thoughts on this TO&E.

1st Company Veterans - Normal marines w. Rhino Transports

1st Company Terminators: Normal Terminators w. Transports.

2nd -5th batlecompanies: Standard 12 tactical, 4 Ass, 4 dev + Rhinos + command.

6+7th reserve tactical Companies: Footslogging Marines (
??? ) 2x 3 detatchments+ Veteran HQ section

8th Assault reserve Company: 15 Bike Stands (45 Marines) 5 Assault Bikes (10 Marines) 10 Land Speeders (20 Marines) Assault Marine Formation + HQ (25 Marines = 100

9th Devastator Reserve Company: 20 Support Weapon stands (2 crew each = 40 marines) 3 Devastator Formations (60 marines)= 100 Marines + 6 Rhino transports (For the Devastators) + 4 Land Raider Transports (assuming each Land Raider can carry 10 Marines + 5 Support Weapons -they're Mole Mortars so they can't take up all that much space!)

10th Scout Company: 18 scout stands + HQ

Armoured support:
10 Venerable Dreadnoughts
2Land Raider Companies
1Predator Comapny
1 Vindicator Company
1 Whirlwind Company
2 Razorback formations
Hunter Formation
4 Thunderhawks
1Landing Craft.

I'm particularly curious how you feel about the reserve companies. Is the Devastaor company too cheesy? What about the Assault Coy? And it is downright ridiculous too have two whole companies worth of footslogging marines (I supppose I could add more Rhinos at a later date...)

Hi!

Ah! Your thinking in a scale I like....

..an epic scale! :D

I dont think a devastator company is at all cheesy, they are expensive and effective troops. But why either or? Why not have a devastator AND assault units in reserve?

You could mount one footslogger company to Thunderhawks and drop another one with pods.

No unfortunately not yet. Right now I am missing the two tactical reserve companies the Devastator company and half the Battlecompanies so it's still a bit off in the future.

You could mount one footslogger company to Thunderhawks and drop another one with pods.
