I read a story about them in "Legends of Space Marines" just the other day. Idk if that helps anything?

I've been looking for this - I'm quite interested by the info on the Scythes of the Emperor and the creation of Space Marine chapters. I don't suppose anyone has a copy to sell or to share? |

It has an article "For they shall know no fear" on creating a space marine chapter. It is six pages long. Cant say anything on the Scythes of the Emperor jumped out at me. Still i didn't re read it thoroughly. Pm me and include a private email address and i will scan them for you. I only use the private email for the scans as i fail miserably when using the forum private message to send documents. |

Nope. It's apparently non-committal about it. (Assuming it's that story with Kraken in the title). |

They are covered in the White Dwarf 197 article. Page 28 "I am particularly interested in the five loyal First Founding Space Marine Legions we haven't covered in the three Space Marines Codex books. I've taken two of these five chapters, The Iron Hands and Salamanders, as well as two other interesting chapters, the Lamenters and Scythes of the Emperor and come up with a few ideas for making them a bit more unique." Page 29 "After reading through Epic Hive War and Codex Ultramarines, I found that during the second Tyrannic War both the Lamenters and the Scythes of the Emperor chapters were all but destroyed by the onslaught of Hive Fleet Kraken." There are then two more paragraphs which gives more detail including that the Lamenters and Sscthes of the Emperor Veterans could be immune to all fear and terror effects caused by Tyranids and their weapons. In addition you could make them hate Tyranids. |
