Hi Folks,
I had an odd thing happen the other day. A nid player parked his Lictors in such a way that the Farseer couldn't summon the Avatar without having it be within the Lictors' 10cm zone of control. I know that it says that teleporters cannot land in an opponent's zone of control, however what happens to the Avatar in this situation? Does this mean it just doesn't come on?

Well, I assumed that it was summoned like a demon since the description used the word summon and the statline did not have "Teleporter" trait assigned to it. Additionally, in the tournament army list they didn't use teleport anywhere in the the description of bringing the Avatar on the board.
But I wanted to make sure. We played it that the Avatar could be summoned, but if it was still in an enemy ZOC by the time it came to activate it, it was obligated to engage as per the normal rules.

I would say it couldn't come onto the board into a ZoC, the same as Teleport and summoned daemons.

Whoops. Ok.
Here's the rub then. Does that mean a person can effectively 'block' the Avatar from coming by making sure they've got the Farseer inside of ZOC? The thing with Teleporters is that they can always come on the board because there is no way a person can block the 'entry point'... Just playing devil's advocate to feel out the issue

Avatars can come in anywhere within 15cm of the Farseer. From a practical standpoint, that's a pretty large area to block. I'd say yes, if someone can really do that to every Farseer in play, they have succesfully blocked the Avatar from coming on board.

Noted, it was the first time that I'd seen it happen. I shall play it this way from here on.
