Post subject:  cost for some units in various list current and proposed not

I have gone thorough some of the Eldar lists and they are not the same for some units.

For example in the YME-Loc 2019 army list, a list which is supposed to be heavy in swords of vaul and engines of vaul, the Void Spinner costs 300 points for one plus 275 points each for up to 2 additional void spinners.

In the Biel-Tan 2019 army list which is supposed to be avaried list with more infantry and aspect warriors than other craft worlds, the cost for one void spinner is 275 points one and up to 2 more at 275 points each.

In the developmental Biel-tan 4.1, the cost of any engine of vaul including void spinners is 250 points, with up to 2 additional at 250 points each.

In the yme-loc 4.2.1 which I think needs the swords of vaul brought back to the core unit types, has the void spinners costed the same as the 2019 biel-tan list 275 points base plus additionals.

I can not find any other lists that have the void spinner.

Their are other units that are not consistant. Phoenix bomber price for older vs new lists. Some lists allow for more falcons in a swords of vaul list while most cap them at 6 models with upgrades. Too many lists where the number of guardians plus farseer is not a consistant value. Biel-tan has more than Yme-loc or Sian-Haan and so on.

Is there a set value for the Eldar and other armies. By this I mean, set unit size and costs. I can understand if some armies do not get access to some exotic units like the Void Spinner, wraith guard/wraith swords, wraith knights. Each has a theme - Sian-Haan jet biker based like the old White scars and are core of Shining spears and wild riders. Iyanden has a core of wraith lords and wraith guards/ swords as they are based on a ghost/spirit units with a lack of the more exotic stuff.

Bieltan has guardians and aspect warriors and seems to have access to a lot more exotic stuff than most. Alaitoc has guardians and rangers with pathfinders as their elite sniper scouts.

Ulthwe seems to be the most restrictive list after the titan based lists. Its core is just black guardians and its support choices are quite limited. I thought Ulthwe used a lot of aspect warriors as well as the plethora of guardians (both sword and defender guardians) - just my thoughts based on the old eldar army books.

Can we get the cost of the units made the same, and where possible have the unit sizes made the same throughout. I ask the second mainly because of people like myself who build an army and then have to buy more units later on, as the formation nows requires more core models in the unit when the army list is developed.

Are you looking at the tournament pack?

The cost of units should not necessarily be the same between lists.

We have mainly kept the costs the same across lists but then restricted options between variants but this is not the case always.

No it is just that I went and tried to build a Yme-Loc army which has 3 exotic unit types Lynxes, kestrel and warp hunters. I had planned on perhaps the kestrel in addition to the normal night spinners.

With the develoipmental 4.2 list the swords of vaul the normal mainstay of a yme-loc list, they now replace them with titans making the list a wannabe Fir-Lirithion list. I have to build a list with mostly vulnerable engines of vaul, and a couple of expensive titans to get the other units I want in the list.

Or if I use the current list, the Void spinners are really expensive - far more than biel-tan gets them, and Yme-loc is suppose to specialise in super heavy grav tanks and other eldar grav tanks like falcons. If I use the new list I lose the swords of vaul as a core choice. It seems to promote a select few lists and make other list less desirable.

I am looking at both the tournament pack lists and the new developmental lists.

So this: https://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd ... p?id=23981

And this? https://tp.net-armageddon.org/army-list ... l-tan.html

Swords of Vaul are a core choice, just not the Void Spinner. I upped the cost +25 from Beil-Tan and moved them into the troupes section because they've been such an auto-include locally. If you disagree, play them at what you think feels fair.
