As Dave says, Chroma has left Iyanden, Saim Hann, and Ulthwe in very good shape. I'm hoping we can see these lists Approved in time for the 2013 Compendium. I'll write up my thoughts as soon as possible so we can get going.

Not related to any specific list, I'd like to see a resolution to the SHT debates that have been going on, as well as (insert scary music here) a resolution to the Titan Power Fist Problem. Balancing the TPF versus the other Titan weapons in the core list must happen before we can move forward with the ETC list, which will be phase two of revitalizing the Eldar, along with a tank list (either Yme-Loc or Mymeara).

I need to look into how much this will disrupt things more; I'd like the lists approved with TPF changes, but getting the big five to approved status must take priority. If we need to delay the TPF changes till the 2014 compendium, so be it. Watch this space.

Could you elaborate on the "power fist" problem.

Power fists are not balanced against other Titan Weapon options, particularly those which are on the standard configuration Titans. While not directly comparable, the Eldar Titan Power Fist roughly combines the abilities of an AMTL Gatling Blaster, Titan CCW, and half a Laser Burner. Compare this to the Psychic Lance or (particularly) the Titan Pulsar and the exchange is by no means even. Several ways of dealing with the problem have been suggested in the past, from a points cost to moving some of the attacks on the Fist to the chassis itself. It's a discussion that is always... 'spirited', but in order for the ETC list to balance properly, it needs to be made. If we could avoid making a change to all Eldar titans I would, but there needs to be consistency across lists. Ideally changes will be minimal, but it needs discussion (again).

I'd prefer to make any changes and test them before we approve the remainder of the Big Five, so we don't have to take a step backwards almost immediately. Same with any changes the EoVs need.

The powerfist also utterly outclasses all the alternate Eldar Titan weapons. Pulsars aren't great, and probably need to be looked at too, but Power Fists are the ultimate all-rounders - shooting, FF, and CC(TK). That kind of flexibility is not in line with the Eldar ethos of doing one thing, and doing it perfectly.

Concerning the TPF, I fully agree with Rug's comments.

The Psychic Lance is better than the Power fist, so the only standard weapon that compares poorly is the Pulsar.

Now by all standards the Pulsar is not strong enough, as its supposed to be 1,5-2 times as good as an Imperial Titan weapon (Eldar battle titans only have 2 Battle titan weapons).

The TPF fits the bill of being 1,5-2 times the strength of an imperial Battle titan weapon, and so does the Psychic Lance. The Pulsar does not, and that's where the problem is.
