So I've decided to throw together an Eldar army. I used to play Iyanden in 40K so I thought I might give this list a go. Looking at what I have I'm thinking of running: Spirit Warrior Warhost (to go in Vampire) - 350 Spirit Warrior Warhost, Wraithlords, Wraith Seer (BTS) - 625 Spirit Warrior Warhost, Wraithlords - 525 Scorpion - 250 Storm Serpent - 250 War Walkers - 150 Rangers - 100 Falcons (1 Firestorm) - 250 Falcons (1 Firestorm) - 250 Vampire - 200 WraithGate - 50 3000 points/ 10 activations Any comments and or criticisms? |

I can't remember exactly what support choices are limited by the "living few" rule, so I don't know how much slack you have with support choices. However, I'd drop the wraithlords from the 3rd warhost (it's coming out of the webway I presume?) and use those 175pts for some nightspinners. Then I'd junk the scorpion and see if you can scrounge an extra 50pts for some nightwings. Your single firestorms are going to be suppressed/dead almost immediately, so the nightwings will come in very handy to protect the Vampire. I'd personally go for 2 firestorms per fm if you have the models. warwalkers are also 200pts for 6, unless things have changed recently I'd possibly also lose the wraithlords from the BTS too. Admittedly, it's a hugely tough fm to crack (all fearless 4+ RA), but you're suffering for on the board formations (at the moment you have 7), so those 175pts might be more useful spent elsewhere |

Thanks for the comments, the "living few" rule means I can't have more guardian, aspect, or jetbike fms than I have sprit host formations. The Warwalkers in the list are currently 4 for 150 with up to 2 more for +25 points each. I was unsure about the Scorpion myself. I was considering dropping it for 2 more Falcons in each fm (I do have the models for 2 Firestorms in each) and adding another small FM of War Walkers. I hadn't considered the night spinners though... |

It's not that easy to suppress Firestorms is it? The Falcons have the same range. Stick it in the middle of the formation and he needs two kill to vehicles to suppress it, which would break the formation anyway. |

I know the competitive types at Epic-Uk tend to use two Fire Storms in their Falcon formations and they seem a good option to me. I'd be concerned about your single Storm Serpent getting killed first thing/very soon and that causing you problems. I tend to prefer them in pairs as if you have one your opponent do everything they can to kill/break it if they are able to. I'd suggest swapping possibly the Scorpion for a second Storm Serpent. |

Regardless, the current Iyanden list is a hard one to play. I like it, and my 4000 points that i painted up for it.(including my beautiful warlock looking like a malachite and jade warrior). I still have not been able to win a game but i've only played it twice at 3k. |

Iyanden can win, you just have to set out with set targets in mind. If you look here and filter for Iyanden, you should see the list that I used earlier this year. Epic UK list but should give you an idea. |
