I’m aware there’s a signification size difference between the old and new Eldar super-heavies, but I haven’t seen it first-hand. Does anyone have example photos?

I may be snapping up an old Scorpion or two, and I’m wondering how out of place they’ll look. I like the styling, personally. Are they any larger than Night Spinners?

The quick answer is yes, there is a significant difference in the EoV models, and in some cases the name of the model changed as well. As a simple guide, if the stuff you are buying has two small 'wings' sticking out either side of the rear of the model (or if you can see these on a little sprue of an un-assembled version), then it is one of the latest ones.

the previous generation are smaller, while the first generation uses a 'Warp-hunter' for the Cobra, and a 'Tempest' as the Scorpion (and I do not recollect seeing any Storm Serpents or Void Spinners at all)

I can take some size comparison pics of the E:40k cobra+scorpion next to a nightspiner+ruler later, but i don't have any E:A eldar SHTs to compare them to.

Apocolocyntosis, that would be just as helpful. I have a Night Spinner and an E:A SHT.

(Unfortunately the Night Spinners are from an Epic 40k blister, so I only have two... anyone else have the same problem?)

I like how the superheavies were basically the same length as the wave serpent and night spinner.

The E:A ones are much nicer.

Ok, the images posted are for the previous version of the Scorpion and Cobra.

Reading Left to Right you have :
  • plastic rhino (mk1 I think)
  • Wave Serpent - latest version
  • Scorpion mk1.
  • Cobra mk1
  • Night spinner - latest version
  • Falcon - latest version

The latest versions of the Eldar SHT (Storm Serpent, Scorpion, Cobra and Void Spinner) are all significantly bigger than these models:-
Approximately 6cm long x 3.5 cm across the body, 4.5 cm across the rear wings/fins

I will try to put up a picture if I can, but don't hold your breath

Not the best photo, but it gives you a good idea:
Image
Left to right: FW Wave Serpent (Bright Lance), EA Wave Serpent, Fire Prism, Night Spinner (I cut off the wings), EA Falcon, Falcon Mk1, EA Scorpion, EA Storm Serpent, EA Cobra.

Those in primer are useless, sorry.

Wow, the old Super Heavies really are small! They look narrow, above all. Thanks for the pics!
