Help Making an Eldar list

ok, i picked up a sizable epic eldar force for almost nothing from a trader on btown, and would like to scale it down to a solid 5000 point army built for all round games. here is what i have:

8 Scorpion Superheavy tanks, 5 painted 9/10-metal
2 Cobras Superheavy tanks- metal
5 Nigthwing figthers-metal
2 AA looking tanks-metal
8 Wraithlords
14 Heavy Weapon plataforms
27 Falcons
12 Vipers
18 Bike stands, 2 on each, half painted 8/10
6 Dark reaper stands
8 harlequin stands
6 Swooping Hawk stands
10 Firedragon stands
5 banshee stands
9 Striking scorpions stands
5 Dire Avenger stands
10 ranger stands
3 Seer Council stands
32 Guardian Stands
Metal Avatar, painted 7/10
9 Wraithguard stands

im not looking at buying anything for the army, besides maybe a few fliers if they make them in epic scale via AI forgeworld, so please help me make a good list from the stuff i have listed. nothing really specific, just something that can take on any army and stand a chance.

I'll try various Craftworlds as you haven't specified how they're painted.

Nice haul.

It?s lacking Firestorms (more of those AA-looking tanks) and transport, e.g. Wave Serpents.


I use those Mk. I Falcons (the wedge-shaped thingies) for Wave Serpents and E40k Falcons for .. Falcons. Doing so solves all your transport problems in one fell swoop, consider it. There also appears to be no arty, that?s bad.

Otherwise, Vampire Raiders might be a good buy. All said and done, I?d aim for adding:

2x Falcons, mix with Firestorms
1x Fireprisms, dito
1x Firstorms, to have something to mix with.


If you seriously are dead-set against spending another pound on ground forces, get 6 Nightwings (or, since you have the old models, maybe concentrate on Vampire Raiders) and try that.

I mix my Windrider hosts 4x Jetbikes, 2x Vypers to good effect, that way you can suck a BM and still place one out to 30cms and have 2x4+ saves.

8 Scorpions are overkill, they are. sadly, a little overpriced IMO, lacking killing power. Massed use in the pop up in larger games might find them up to par, possibly.

Get a Wratihgate for Wraithguard/Lord reinforced Guardian Warhosts, you have enough for 3 souped-up Hosts.

Add those Heavy Weapon Platforms to line-holder/garrison Guardian Warhosts. Sure you have no Support Platforms among them? The boost numbers cheaply.

With regards to Aspects, I?ll pass. I?m an Ulthw? Guardian/tanks- type, I won last year?s german tournament with this list:

850 Warlock Titan

450 Black Guardian Warhost, 1 Farseer durch Seer Council ersetzt, 4 Wave Serpents

150 Guardian Warhost, 3 Guardians durch Hvy Weapon Platforms ersetzt

150 Guardian Warhost, 3 Guardians durch Hvy Weapon Platforms ersetzt

200 Windrider Host 4xJetbikes 2xVyper

200 Windrider Host 4xJetbikes 2xVyper

175 Shields of Vaul 2xFirestorm 1x Nightspinner

Which reminds of another point: Get a Warlock Titan.

They are quite affordarble on ebay and are guaranteed to either draw a lot of fire or ravage the enemy.

im gonna pick up a few falcons and wave serpents from FW at gamesday, they are 3 for 5 bucks, so how many do you suggest i get, i guess ill put a lil money into some transports, as thats really the fundamental advantage to eldar, the fast moving skimmers.

Since you need 4 Wave Serpents to transport a formation of 8 (Guardian/Aspect Warhosts), I?d get 4x3 to carry 3 formations. I?d definitely add a Vampire Raider, not only is the FW mini absolutely gorgeous but the ability to insert an Aspect Warhost where you need it is quite nasty.

As you have sufficient Falcons I presume you are planning on getting Firestorms?
