Hi all, I've got this Dark Eldar bee in my bonnet at the moment. I'm making my own interpretation of the DE for Epic, with skimmers, wheeled vehicles, and small Titans, and have no plans to make a dedicated army list, unless I do it by borrowing bits of rules for existing vehicles. But I'm really curious to know how the DE are viewed in Epic - should they be there at all? Vote away! ![]() |

Hi John, I wouldn't use wheeled vehicles. Only one Eldar vehicle has ever been wheeled to my knowledge and that was a NetEpic vehicle. I seem to recall that it was called the "unicorn" or something like that. The Dark Eldar are a raider force and wheeled transport wouldn't seem to make sense for them. As is they probably use webways for most of their transport so larger vehicles wouldn't make sense. Titans and larger skimmers / grav vehicles would be pretty rare as those sorts of forces have low strategic mobility and raider forces are all about mobility. Just my two Kopecks! Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. P.S. There have been a number of Dark Eldar conversions over the years... mostly using Eldar and chaos bitz. |

I agree that wheeled units are not the way to go. It would be nice to have the DE represented in EA. Titans probably shouldnt be seen, but I am thinking of large 'palaces to pain'... |

There was a fan list Someone (I forgot who) that Tepoc had brought to attention on the old EPIC Forum. Good start for a list, sorry I didn't save it. Unfortunately It caused a huge debate on whether it should exist in EPIC. Some said they would never exist in that size (makes poor pretty weak raiding parties if they only had a 40K sized force raiding settlements IMO). Then there was a debate over discussing a list that wasn't on a the original development roster and that wasn't going to be supported by Specialist Games (that part turned ugly). Of course very little is supported now so that argument isn't as strong as it once was. So here's what I'll say. Dark Eldar is a pure hobbyist army. It will only be supported by player made conversions so it will be completely from scratch army (I've been saving up old Eldar w/ lasguns for this or Exodites). Dark Eldar are raiding force, not a warring force. This should place army strength (if tournament points are assigned) having Dark Eldar on the weaker side of the game balance issue (if a balanced army falls in between 45-55% win ration, DE should be around 45%). Because DE are Raiders no Titans or WE should be expected. If they had a 2DC vehicle, it would be impressive. I'd also go as far right now and say if GW or FW doesn't make a model for it, we shouldn't create anything new to fill in gaps. We don't have any say with GW's Intellectual Properties (and you know how they get touchy about that). That said I'm willing to help out as much as I can. I will always support everything Eldar. |

Although I probably won't build a Dark Eldar army, I do feel they have a place in Epic. |

Alike Dwarf Supreme, though I'm unlikely to play them(almost as unlikley as playing Epic anyway), I feel they deserve a place. If they can commit to boarding actions, planetary assaults and the like in BFG, then an Epic force IMO is a bit of a daft argument: Obviously it happens. That said, I'd also be half inclined to side with MC23s points on the subject. He makes good sense. Xisor |

RRRight! I didn't coment before so as to give time for some feedback to come in. I frankly wasn't surprised that the first option wouldn't be the most popular - nicely put, MC23: Some said they would never exist in that size (makes poor pretty weak raiding parties if they only had a 40K sized force raiding settlements IMO). |

L-4, you're a veritable mine of military info and - of late - model pics. One of the epic heritage reserves, I'd say! ![]() |

Hi! In NetEpic they are included in the Eldar book. Sorta like an offshoot, like exodites. I never thought they were a big enough force for their own army list. Primarch |

Hi! Vanvlak, the latest is 5.0. It was not included in 4.1. It was a separate file back then. Our editor placed them in the same eldar book for 5.0. Primarch |
