Had a rematch game against Minervans last night (will get a battle report and pics up sometime over next couple of days)

I had a basically fairly balanced force for the DE (though I did splash out on one formation as a tester and to try out a special character model I had made)

My opponent took no infantry at all and 3 companies of Superheavies and Leman russ supported by bombards and vultures.

To put it short and blunt - I died. Very badly.

Is anyone else having trouble cracking through heavily armoured forces without resorting to maxing out on phantom lances?

To be fair my dice rolls were not up to scratch yesterday and especially so on activations but I was wondering if i was missing some key tactic to dealing with heavy armour that I had missed in the list?

Anyone come across this problem or a way of dealing with it?

PS: I NEARLY managed to try out the Fleet rule but activation rolls thwarted me at the last second. One day I'll manage it! ONE DAY!

Yep, it is hard to deal with SHT:s and titans with De. Tormentor is good against those and leman russes don't like close relationship with incubi. Still VoP:s are quite vital for De to handle heavy stuff.

I'm waiting for your report, even though you revealed the ending... :)

With Dark Eldar mobility, you should be able to set up some crossfire situations to reduce the enemy armour values a bit and add more Blast markers to them...

And that's about all I can add!  *laugh*
