Shields of Vaul - this formation type was added to the Eldar revision near the end of the process without much discussion or testing around it. Essentially it is just the Nightspinner troupe, except that you can replace 0-3 of the Nightspinners with Firestorms.

Some people have complained that this formation is overpowered and that the proposal should be removed from the list. Others think that the price of the formation should increase.  Others think it is ok.

This poll is purely to decide whether or not the Shields of Vaul Troop should be included AT ALL.

OPTIONS ARE:
1. No to the Shields of Vaul
2. Yes to the Shields of Vaul

Please consider your choice in relation to Firestorm power in this additional poll - where you can vote on potential tweaks to a Shields of Vaul formation if it is to be kept:

(Yeah it's kinda like multi-tasking, don't worry you'll be ok I'm sure...)

I think shields of vaul is a good formation name. However it should not be able to get more than one Firestorm. It should not be able to change all three nightspinners into Firestorms.

I like the name too.

I think the formation should be 3 Night Spinners with the option to *ADD* one Firestorm for protection.

I wouldn't allow adding as it "feels" better for it to be fragile. So allow changing one to Firestorm is better.

A "fragile" shield feels *better*?!  *sigh* Only the Eldar would think that way...  :D

It makes perfect sense to me (as I hide from artillery shells in my plasticard vehicle). :alien:

Everytime I've seen it used with all Firestorms, it holds off aircraft for 1 turn max after which it crumbles horribly due to the enemy blatting it muchly.

Ok Shields stays in Handbook version 1.3

However down to 0-1 Firestorm (for free) because I think Sotec is thinking it.
That doesn't seem like a fantastic formation to me but there you go.

Not definite and fixed and leaving this open for discussion and debate.
