I'm writing a titan on titan game at the moment and the Eldar equivilent of the corvus assault pod is a wraith gate that the titan can depoly.

now to do this in a suitably Eldar way the titan needs a powerfist.

You could use someting similar. An upgrade for powerfit armed titans is that they can drop a wraith gate at the end of one of their moves.

Clicky link for a 4,000pt battle report between Novamarines and ETC. It seemed to work quite nicely. Still no infantry, but Bob Hunk did include some Wraithlords and some extra Revenants. I'll see if he fancies trying out some infantry next game – he seemed quite keen.

I saw that and commented on it?

If he used Rangers as Screens he might be able to smash you better. Protecting his Titans from Assaults he may not want to fight, Revenants in particular. I'm glad someone has time and players to playtest! Next Vassal game I'll be play ETC too!

A couple of things before I add this to the Eldar Section of the NetEA Army Book:

1) Is it really necessary to have the Eldar missile launchers as an upgrade, especially as they are free (or close to!) and all the basic models have them already modelled on? Can't they just be a standard part of the model? The core three Titans have that a "2 x" as well, why would the Titan Clan's Titans be "poorer cousins"?

2) Could I suggest using the "Wraith Seer" character as the supreme commander of this list instead of the "Wraithsinger" which only adds supreme commander for +100 points? Seems a bit expensive and is "yet another character". Heck, what's wrong with just using the Autarch, but with a different name (if needed) for flavour? Speaking of characters, the Eldar Battle Titans are already supposed to come with leader, so I'm not sure a character giving leader is needed, commander is cool though, but I see it being used *very* rarely.

3) Having 3+ initiative on the Phantasm Titan is pretty brutal. With a Blast marker on it, it's only got a 50% chance of activating; is that level of unreliability your intent?

4) The way you've written the Titan datafaxes is "May Take Two... Weapons" means that cheaper "weapon-less" Battle Titans can be taken, perhaps with a free Missile Launcher to become a "cheap" and nasty assault unit. Earlier versions of the AMTL list had this problem. I'd suggest following my original Fir Iolarion list, based on the normal Eldar Titan weapons, and allowing various weapons to be swapped out for standard Pulsars and appropriate costs.

5) I think a Titan toting a Wraithgate is very cool, but I think it might be worth more that +50 points. Shattering an enemy formation with a Phantom, moving to support range of another formation, and then having six Wraithlords pour out is gonna really make people not like you... *LAUGH*

6) I'm going to start with labelling this V2.0, with any changes rolling that number up, okay?

I look forward to your responses!

It was to try to make them more modular. But in hindsight I think ETC and AMTL can't follow the same modular concept to the same degree. The "2x" was a error on my part, they were to be the same as the other Titans.

Wraith Seer sounds good. I just made names up on the fly so to confuse with Standard Autarch or Exarch. The reason for this was that Titans shouldn't/wouldn't get the same stats effects and bonuses as normal Character upgrades would give, hence the reason for different names.

The concept was to have a cheaper Phantom Titan but that was un-piloted. There for having a worse Iniative as there actions would be a slower/repeat me fashion. But taking a Spiritsinger would help them to make them more action-able. +1 or a re-roll was my options. I thought the re-roll gave it more of a uncertain psychic connection feel.

My document set-up and wording are not the best. I am an amateur after all. :D

True. I was just throwing a price out there. I mean the Storm EoV doesn't have a price in cress. Would recommended 75 or 100?

Sounds good. But now if feel more like a real list that way instead of me just throwing ideas out! :o ;)

I think I will pound out 2.1 for your consideration Sir!

New Updated Version 2.1 uploaded to Original Post!

Changes and Reasons:

Strategy Rating: Why was it 3 instead of 4 to begin with? All other Eldar lists are 4(Expect Samm-Hain). I mean when MonKeigh Titans are taking together they have a SR of 5! So I made it 4.

Titans: The prices have been changed due to reincorporating Missile Launcher and Leader. Also those options have been dropped as upgrades obliviously.

Phantasm: I dropped Free Spirit Stone and the possible upgrade option from this Titan. Why should this Titan be inspired by what it self is? I mean Phantasm has no crew and is ran off the Spirit Stone of Past Crews. While the Spirit Stone upgrade is to inspire the living crew to perform as well as there crew before them.

Specter: This Titan was dropped for now. The idea and purpose were not meshing well.

Guardians: I wanted to have a formation of guardians and various weapon platforms. However at this stage I think just sticking to the 2 version we have is fine.

Knights: I originally was planning on taking look of Knight more in depth later. Using Fire Gales as a place holder. In till then I put back the original Knight Formation to appease people that actually have and want to use there models.

Wraith Seer: Changed the name as it better than my on the Fly name.

Uncommon Titan Weapons: I tried to tweak them stat wise so they weren't so Orky. Also tried to adjust prices to balance with existing weapons. This I feel is my biggest weak spot, alternate weapons and pricing. Need Playtesting!

So there ya have it. A updated and cleaner version for the NetEA Books and Testing.

That's up for review...in the previous list I have a Specter Titan and Phantasm. I dropped the Specter. I guess name changes could happen, but I'll wait till the next major review.

Naming
I'd avoid any words that have different UK/US spellings, such as Specter/Spectre.

Revenant titan weapons
Revenant Sonic Lances are pretty damn hardcore! A formation of two is generating 8BP. I'd suggest 1BP for each Lance.

That's how it was when I came along. I will keep an eye on it. But I don't want to change anything till after the NetEA Books are up. For now this will be are baseline for testing for a few months. Hopefully I can play some games! :D

But since you mention it I'll ask BlackLegion, I wanted his opinion when the FW Phantom weapons get released.

I do rather like Spectre (I suggested it back on p1), as it's recognisable, simple, and fits the naming scheme. It's only when people started posting the US spelling that I had some reservations.

Personally, I'd like it to be Spectre, but the different spellings would annoy me. ::)

Cheers for the link, by the way, and I'll see if I can get some test games in. Any particular army you'd like to see the Clan fight?
