I'm not convinced I would put my inspiring upfront even with MWs. What's weird about this idea, Chroma, is that -as far as I know- it has never been a serious point of debate. Heck, I can't remember seeing a single post on it in years and only then when the Eldar review was going on at Specialist Games forum. You, me, and many others have openly discussed the stability of the Eldar lists and how few problems there are with them. If that be true, what good can come of this change?
Either it works and makes them better in which case it calls into question the balance of the lists, or it doesn't work in which case it doesn't warrant the change. I understand the desire to make things more fluffy or have things make more sense, but in this particular instance I'd say best let sleeping dogs lie.
I had this chat with one of the other list developers and we talked about how you can tweak these army lists endlessly if you really wanted to. Mod this formation down 17 points, up that firefight by one, add a MW, subtract an extra attack, etc. At some point it is best to just hang the painting on the wall and walk away... The art piece is finished.
Playtest it, sure. But don't hold up the project for it. I can think of plenty other things for me to contribute that are more important. If it is that important it can be looked at in a year or two.
