Mark,

The handbook you released is YOUR release.  It was assisted by many, appreciated by many more, complained about by some, and rejected by a few.  Your uncompromising position throughout the whole process was that YOU were going to put it out come hell or high water.  Let justice be served though the heavens fall or some other poetic reference is appropriate here.

If anyone asked you to hold off on releasing, would you have?  Of course not!  You did it because you felt it was the best thing for the community, your game group, and for yourself.  I'm not complaining about this and in many ways I admire your tenacity.  What does this have to do with the Eldar change doc?  Nothing and yet everything.

Chroma is the recognized Army Champ for the Eldar, not just by the community but by SG.  As the army champ he is responsible for working the Eldar lists, taking feedback from the community, conferring with the ERC, and making a decision.  As you have pointed out on many occasion, polls are not the most reliable source of information and a total vote of 33 people is hardly representative.   And what is up with the idea that the vote at the time Neal looked at it (19-11) would be more accurate than the most recent vote?  The mere fact that it can swing so fast should tell you that it could be tell us something completely different by next month.  I believe I read something you posted about how we shouldn't wait for another 6 months for the poll to include Xnumber of people and you were making a decision now and blah blah blah.  I'm sure somebody can search and find it if they had the time.

When the Eldar were discussed on the SG forum the troupe was debated extensively and it was met with mixed results there too.  We don?t have the luxury of having it be a wham-bam-thank-you-ma?am landslide decision.  And you know full well that decisions this close (like the demolisher cannon discussion) never make everyone happy.  So he made a decision and stuck with the troupe idea.

In addition the previous Eldar champ (who was appointed by Jervis and Andy) put the Aspect Troupe into the list.  So Chroma didn?t do anything except leave the dang thing as it was.

I can?t understand why YOU get to act with your own deadlines that recognize nobody else?s timelines or concerns but Chroma needs wait and see, confer with da boss, etc.   There's a word for that: hippo-critters is it? :p   You need to put the kiwi male persona back on the shelf on this one, hombre.

Besides, it is a change doc.  It isn't in the vault.  It represents the 1.8.1 changes as they stand.  It'll get ironed out in due time.  It's not like Chroma is running over a sack of puppies.

In short I am sick of the mess of development processes and yes I'm forcing the issue (and definitely not just at my own behest either).  See the thread here, and come up with a process that works, because things clearly are not at the moment:

As far as I'm concerned, it's the Eldar Army Champion's call if he wants to put out an updated experimental list or not.

Also Mosc, this is not about appeal to authority. Greg Lane is still officially the 'SG Army Rules Champion' - does that really mean anything anymore?

That is not to say I put Chroma in same category. In fact his efforts have been so impressive to date that I've considered that he might be an ideal candidate to turn the Handbook project over to (if he is that much of a sucker! :;):). My objections are all simply raised in attempt to achieve a broader unified process that works. That is all.
