I think enough reasons have been stated above Chroma :)

Well, there's some above who spoke of it being a good idea too... ?:D

And "overly cheesy" was used as a rationale above, but I fail to see the cheesiness of it.

Does anyone take 8-strong teleporting Swooping Hawk Warhosts that often? ?I can't say I've seen it as a strong choice in games.

While I appreciate your "fluff" answer (Go Biel-Tan! *laugh*), the Swordwind is a storm of *blades*, not bludgeons! ?The need for surgical strikes would hardly be passed up by the Farseers of Biel-Tan!

Someone please explain to me why it's cheesy for Biel-Tan to take a 4 unit Swooping Hawk formation while it's fine for Alaitoc or Uthwe to do the same thing? ?I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, I truly don't understand the viewpoint.

Yes I take 8 strong Swooping Hawks many times. 8 FF4+ with 2 EA inspiring Exarchs? Not bad...

If you fail to see the cheesiness of 4 strong units of Hawks in Biel Tan then I'm not sure we can help you...  :;):

Note other craftworlds use these but then they don't have access to the 8 strong hosts - so it is more balanced.

Even just from the point of view of keeping the flavour of the lists distinct it is important to disallow access to each others formations and keep the restrictions - a point emphasised by MC23.

Ok it's gone in handbook 1.3.

However, not definite and fixed and I'm leaving this open for discussion and debate and more votes.

Ah, I voted too early. I voted "yes" but then I put little more thought in to it and realised that "no" is much better.

Biel-Tan already have Asbest Warriors, no need for more. More options only underlines Biel-Tans greatness over other Eldar-lists (they have void-spinner, they can have Asbest Warhosts).

I have started Iyanden Eldars but desided to play with Biel-Tan list because Voidspinner is so much better barrageplatform than papermade Nightspinners and 8 Aspect Warriors can actually win assaults (compared to 4 which are annoyance unit, but great annoyance unit). Giving them option to drop 4 Sweeping Hawks to enemy blitz would make senseles to use any other list (apart from fluffreasons). Well, senseless is too strong word, I mean they would just be very, very good.

I'm still undecided on this one.

I like the troupe and don't see anything game breaking in it. Fluffwise I couldn't care less since it's still a game and game mechanics comes first and the rest is just bling-bling. Besides who can say what the hippies have or have not tried in their zillion years of history? At least I know what Penn and Teller would say about erasing them based on the undisputable evidence presented before us..

Don't you see how a cheap 4 strong formation is so much cheesier than an expensive 8 strong one?

The 4 strong one is cheap enough to leave off the board until the last turn, then teleport on an unguarded objective.

Personally, I don't like the idea of any of the Eldar lists having the 4 strong warhosts.

With an entire turn to dislodge four whole Swooping Hawks :) from the objective I don't se it as a problem.  They are not terribly strong and four of them will break quite easily.  Their real power is in being able to fire support a position that was weak in a previous turn.  Besides you know at the beginning of turn 2 that they are going for an objective grab on turn 3 just by virtue of them not being on the board on turn 2.  I'd be much more worried about a formation of 8 Swooping Hawks or 4 Terminators or other strong teleporting formation.

I disagree, I see them regularly on the table, and the almost invariably teleport out of LOS and grab an objective.

Also with a move of 35cm they can assault in LOS, consolidate backwards to an objective too.  They can also be on the board and move 120cm (if you had a road) on a march to grab an objective.  I'm not doubting that the troupe provides some flexibility, only disagreeing that it unbalances the list internally or externally.

i dont see it as beardy or cheesy... just unnessisary in the list, also it may become a cheap activation/last turn objectve grab formation and little else.
