The Swords of Vaul formation is somewhat less contriversial (though I get the feeling Neal has problems with it, too, though for different reasons - perhaps unrelated to game play). Of course, it depends on the stats of the fire prism changing from uber-AA tank to tank-destroyer.

Nope.  I'm fine with the Swords of Vaul as a formation.  I just didn't think it should be inserted retro-actively into the BT list.  I don't mind if it's in other lists instead of the vanilla Falcon Troupe.

In fact, if you want to play it in the BT list next time we play, have at it.

Just to inform you all, the "Shields of Vaul" formation, with access to three Firestorms, will be removed in the next interation of the Eldar lists.

Good news!  :) I assume the Swords of Vaul formation will stay but with the option of taking up to two Fire Storms - as you just said. So we definitively won?t see a dedicated Fire Prism Troupe any more?

Most likely not, for the "alt"-Craftworld lists.

Because of the need for "minimalist" changes for the already published lists, Biel-Tan will stay with the two different Troupes.

So with calls for the Cadians to be tested for the next NetEpic book can we have an update of this list?

The only updates it needs are those to get it in line with the "Suggested NetEA" changes... so, that'll be allowing Heavy Weapons in Wave Serpents...

Are there any other changes felt as necessary for it?

Remove the Shields of Vaul formation and revert to the Nightspinner formation.

Ah, I'd already indicated that earlier in the thread.

If the Shields of Vaul are removed Swords of Vaul should be allowed to replace up to two Falcons with Firestorms.

I still think the Seer Council is a bit overpriced. +75 pts. seems right to me.

And there is that quite annoying copy and paste error indicating aspect warriors points costs first @ 175 and later @ 150 pts.

By the way: what about the Spear of Khaine for the Avatar? Wasn´t that in the "to be considered" file?

Yes, that change will be made.

The Seer Council is intentionally priced relatively high... it's quite a bit better compared to a Space Marine Supreme Commander for the same point cost.

Will be rectified.

A chat with Jervis indicated that he preferred for Biel-Tan to have the only "special" Avatar if at all possible.

Are people feeling the need for the Spear of Khaine as an addition?

Well, one arguement for including the Spear of Khaine is to keep the stats of all Avatar formations the same. Of course, then you'd have to find an excuse for giving the other craftworlds similar consideration (while at the same time finding a way to make it fit their backgrounds).

While I'd love to see a wraithguard retinue for the Avatar in the Iyanden list, or a ranger/pathfinder retinue for Alaitoc, or who-knows-what for Saim Hann, it's probably just as well keeping the special Avatar Beil-tan-only.

Also, I got the feeling that, since the Spear of Khaine got no mention in the latest WH40k Eldar codex, that the studio was looking to trash the idea entirely.

Not to stir the kettle too much, I *believe* the Spear of Khaine was mentioned in a 40k: Apocalypse entry...

Don't have the Apoc book with me but the Court of the Young King datasheet doesn't mention it at all (or perhaps I'm blind  )

So, it does still "exist"...

That would be because that's a Biel-Tan formation!  *laugh*

The Spear of Khaine is detailed in the Ulthwé Strike Force pdf on the GW site.
