Hi, here?s my first 6mm figures...what do you think? Please don?t be too severe, my first minis in this scale...  In those pictures where you can see some unfinished parts of our new gaming table are hammerheads with older bases, so I changed and made new ones showing in those pics of 2 hh and that self made bunker...+ some human allies (GW stormtroopes).     Photographing minis of this scale is not the easiest thing... |

Thanks for the nice words guys!! That gaming table I did with my good friend J, noticed we have an excellent team to do such tasks. And modelling both minis and terrain is greatly fun!! Our good friend Iceman helped us also with some good tips and advices. It?s surprisingly time consuming to make that kind of modular gaming board. And thats a first table we have ever made that way so we had to learn everything from the beginning. The basic ideas we had worked well and now the table is almost finished. Only the water in the canal front of the becoming water refinery (top pic, single module in the top of the pic, refinery buildings not ready yet) and the lake (in the module right and middle, looking white because wet pva-glue). Trying to take a few photos more to post here. |

Looks really nice!  Especially if these are only your first attempts. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.  The basses on the Hammerheads look great but I'd be carefull not to use too much electrostatic grass for infantry bases as it can easily remove focus from the actual miniatures in this scale. Personally I like to add a mix of thinned down brown/black to tone down the very vibrant green of grass. It is of course entirely a matter of taste and depends a lot on how you model your gaming table too. Kepp more great photos coming!

Yup. I usually make a very thin wash from a mix of Chaos Black and Snakebite Leather. Add a drop of PVA glue and it will also help keep the grass from falling off. Soak the grass completely in the wash and leave it to dry. The mix should really just have the consistency of water as you don't want it to colour the grass too dark. but experiment a bit and see what works for you. You can vary the intensity and color tone by adding a tiny bit of more brown or black once the mix has been applied to the grass to give some more variation to the color. I think it makes the grass look a bit more natural - less like a freshly mowed lawn and more like wild natural growth. I've got an example on my site here, although the grass perhaps turned out a bit too dark on these models. http://www.mustangsalling.dk/eldar/eldartitans.html Cheers!

@sampy Very nice looking figures and color scheme. What I like about it is that the red (or is it a reddish brown) stands out without hurting your eyes. Great job! |

Thanks for nice words again guys! Trying my best to get ok looking army with sensible time and effort...So trying to not (no, try not, do, or do not, there is no try... ) get too serious with painting...or small mistakes. If the colour scheme looks ok from 1-2 meter distance, it?s ok for me. Guys like Dobbsy, baronpierro and JimmyGrill have inspired me to try to push my skills in to limits....Their work look?s so great that I can only imagine to do minis like that. I will be amazed my self if I one day can get even close to them. Well, there is atleast something to try to reach... Trying to put tomorrow some photos of my first battle ready hh?s and battle suits. Those battle suits I?m going to show are "first attempts", going to change the colour scheme matching with those hh?s. Well, changing the scheme to next minis, and leaving those first attempts as they are. Do any of you have had any problems with resin "bending" in to unwanted shape? Example railcannon in the hh?s is doing that. Problem with railcannon bent like that is that if you fire it, the shoot will be in to orbit...not in the plasma reactor of the warlord...(it?s important to explain your self why minis in this scale must look almost as perfect as possible...hmm ) It was slightly bent when I took it from the package, and I managet to bend it in to right shape but it still looks very slightly bent if looked close and carefully. Well, it?s impossible to notice from 1m distance, but if there is any way to avoid this happening, I would really appreciate a good advice.
