Quick question.
Is it ok to add Networked Drones to a FW or Crisis Cadre?
Obviously you'd need to take the Hammerhead upgrade first, but if so, is that ok? Is it intended?

Currently, no, this is not permitted. I would like to keep Networked Drones restricted to the Armoured Hunter Cadre for the time as it was brought in to address a problem. As soon as it starts to be applied to contingents and upgrades as well we will start to see Crisis Cadres with RailHeads and Networked Drone 'super-formations' everywhere.

If not, maybe it should be removed from "upgrades" and just placed in the Cadre section, like Devilfish for Fire Warriors. Though it would open up another upgrade choice for the Armoured Cadre, it would prevent having to put in "Allowed all upgrades except Networked Drones" to the other Cadres.

CS,
Armoured formations in Tau have a BM management. I thought we were 'trying' the upgrade out on the AMHC first.
My hope was that we would expand Network Drones to other armor types:
1) AMHC 2) HH Contingent 3) Stingray Contingent 4) Scorpionfish 5) Devilfish in Fire Warrior Cadre 6) Devilfish in Pathfinder Contingent
NOTE: it would of course be an option and one would be paying 25 points for each upgrade and losing one of their precious 3 upgrade slots each time they took it. So the upgrade has its costs.
While on the topic of list tweaks and BM management... I also thought we were going to give the +1 init to more than the crisis - i.e. all of the 'elite' choices in the list. There's been many requests for our titans to have init +1 as well. I think the request is valid on both fronts (elites and titans).
1) Crisis Cadre 2) Stealth Contingent 3) Moray (like imperial titans) 4) Manta (like imperial titans)
The point is that BM management has been a problem list wide in the Tau. They suffer from the early eldar development issues of BM management. They collect BM through the game which has a net negative impact on the list over 3 turns. We want to address BM management in the Tau "list" - IMHO, not just fix AMHC and Crisis.
If you are not planning on trying the upgrade with other formations in the list, then I fully agree with Chroma - give it to AMHC as an in line option and remove it as a 'Tau Upgrade'.
Cheers,
