What's the point of the Networked Drone rule? Wouldn't it work just as well to simply make that upgrade read "Add the Leader ability to one Hammerhead Gunship"? I'm just wondering as to the reasoning behind making it a special rule and giving it a special name for no seeming reason...

Because 'add the leader to a hammerhead' just doesn't sound nifty! Networked drones does and gives a backgrund justification.

Though if you wanted to be boring you could just have your suggestion and stick the networked drones bit in the hammerheads fluff (CS, neat way on making it look like there is less special rules :) ).

Just look at it as the "leader" option for Tau tanks - Tau don't get to put their commanders in tanks the way other armies do.

It could be a neat way to reduce the extra rules, but it ust sound Tau! I am a strong believer that the feel of the list is one of the most important things about it, and these little details help to create that Tau feeling.

This one's another about the Networked Drones though slightly different... Why do the Scorpionfish have Networked Drones listed as an option when they can't take Hammerheads and the Networked Drones upgrade specifically mentions adding it to Hammerheads?

Well, instead of it being a special rule, per se, why not make it a unit... a character-style unit, in the unit write-ups?
