Biggest game I've ever played, should be interesting, should make one hell of a long BatRep.

So tell me what you think.

And dont tell me to take 5 Tigersharks 'cause thats right out!

I would upgrade the Stingrays - it would give you another 4 Attacks vs. AP. ( Good against Orks)

LatD or BL?
LatD is also Infantry heavy, while the BL can muster a lot of Vehicles and the dreaded Chosen - CC Experts
Both will presumably be Infantry heavy.
Does he know that you will be playing Tau?
If yes - then the Orks will try to close fast.

I wouldn?t take Stealth as upgrades, I prefer them rampaging alone.
As well I would max-out the AMHC with MBT?s ,not Stingrays.

Maybe , something comes to mind later....

13 activations @ 5k seems a little low.  However, I can't fault the actual formation composition.

You might want to consider moving the skyray upgrade on the stingrays to the FWs, as it is sometimes better not to have AA upgrades on "artillery" formations (makes it twice as juicy a target).  I found the skyray useful in FW cadres as it adds an extra 2 GM shots.

This is a big game. You don't have a lot of models relatively speaking. I'm not sure about these two formations. I don't think they will stand up.

600 points / 9 models = 67 points a model. Do you feel like you are getting a leman russ of use out of these models in a 5K game?

I'd recomend at least one of them becoming a large FW formation with DF for 300 and 250 points in upgrades to bolster.

I think you are going to wish you had some piranha + tetra formations for speed and activation help.

I'll be very suprised if this formation delivers any meaningful results in this game. With on DF down, these are going to be demon bate or ork distance aid - via charge. Maybe you hope to snipe a character ?

I realize the novelty and draw of the piece, but frankly, I think its overpriced for output when we have a list that has lot of formations that are on the higher end of points cost for value.

It will be interesting to see if you will have regretted this decision and preferred 2x morays plus 250 point HH contingent to use instead.

You wouldn't be over in aircraft points that way either.

Yup :blush:

He's confirmed, Orks it is.  Same opponent as my last few games. He tends to take a "Mechanized Ork" list, which usually means fewer boys on foot and more *wagonz.  He also plays smart, I.E. un-orky.  Orks in cover? He does that.

Lat game I played, everyone was asking "Got a Manta?  Where is the Manta?"

Stingrays +Skyray are an experiment:  Keep them behind LOF, use GMs (Seeker and Submunitions) to hit marked mixed formations and formations in cover.

Tac is totally right about the Tetras, I just dont have any.  Next FW order is gonna have at least 2 contingents worth.
