Post subject:  Shas'O Crisis Basing
I've acquired some crisis suits in a trade and I was wondering how these things base up?

Q1: How is a Shas'O in a crisis suit represented when you want to attach him to a Stealth or FW contingent?

Q2: How many stands do you have if you add a Shas'O to a crisis cadre?

Forgive my ignorance, I've never bothered with the suits because I didn't think they were worth it, but now that I have some figs, I might as well try some things out.

Honda,

You can only add commanders and Supreme Commanders to Crisis Teams. (can't commanders and supreme commanders to other stands like stealth and what not)

Tau Upgrade:
1) Commander: Add a Shas'el to a Crisis Team

2) Sup. Cmdr (0-1 / army): Add a Shas'o to a Crisis Team


Q: Now how do you get Crisis teams? (rhetorical)

A: You can get "Crisis Teams" one of 2 ways. You can buy them as a stand alone formation (Cadre) or you can buy them as an upgrade to another formation that allows crisis to be added to them.

Tau Cadres[b]
[b]Battlesuit Cadre: 4 XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Teams, 250 Points

Tau Upgrades[b]
[b]Crisis: +2 XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Teams, 125 Points

So to get Crisis with Stealth and a commander, the commander must be added to the crisis team units. You either have to:

1) Cuy Crisis 'Cadre (4u)' add +3 Stealth upgrade (3u) and you could then add a comdr or SC to one of the 'Crisis UNITS.

2) Buy Stealth 'Contingent' add + 2 crisis as an UPGRADE add SC to one of the crisis team UNITS.

Regarding question 2, you have to have 4 stands of crisis. One of the stands has a SC on the stand too.

Too have all the options you need to have:

1) 2 stands of crisis with no commander on either (Crisis Upgrade, no Cmdr)

2) 1 stand of crisis with a Cmdr and 1 stand without (Crisis Uprade with Cmdr upgrade)

3) 4 stands of Crisis with no Cmdr (Cadre, no cmdr)

4) Cmdr on one stand of crisis AND 3 MORE crisis team stands, 4 total (Cadre + Cmdr Upgrade)

5) 6 stands of crisis with no Cmdr( Cadre + Crisis upgrade)

6) Cmdr on one stand of crisis AND 5 MORE crisis teams (Cadre + upgrade + Cmdr)


2-3 crisis models per stand plus some drones here and there looks pretty good. (Remember, their infantry.)

Apologies, I didn't frame my question very well. However you answered my overall question which is, get the crisis upgrade, then add the SC to one of the crisis stands.

Yeah, sorry to go on at length. I could tell you were looking for something but it didn't seem like you were asking exactly what you wanted to know...  :p
