Having played a couple of games between Tau and Marines my question is what help is the Tau jet pack 10cm move on an Air Assault? If I'm playing this correctly the marine player declares Air Assault and places his T'hawk on his board edge where it will enter. The tau player can then move 10cms in any direction. T'hawk then moves and the troops inside disembark and enter CC. Is the ability supposed to make most assaults FF only or allow the Tau to bring nearby units into support? Just wondering as my Tau owning opponent was dissapointed when my T'hawk assault wiped out his Crisis + drone unit in one assault! |

Wouldn't I be able to claim that as intermingled then and potentially get a 2 for 1 bonus! Glad we played it right that the tau move before the T'hawk lands. |

What about if a combined assault is declared as an action then after tau jet pack moves the formations that were to be assaulted are no longer intermingled . Is it still classed as a combined assault. |

Interesting question.. I assume you mean an assault on intermingled formations rather than a combined assault of several formations attacking one enemy formation? Example: Some SMs (either one formation or several in a combined assault) declare an assault against a Tau HammerHead Contingent and a Crisis Cadre. The Crisis Cadre uses the Jet Packs to jump back out of engagement range. If the SMs win the assault against the Hammerheads, would the Crisis Cadre (that was originally part of the intermingled target of the assault) be broken? |

Sure. Why wouldn't it be? |

For the question : "Is it still a combined assault? - Yes it is. For the question : "...formations that were to be assaulted are no longer intermingled " : I would say they aren?t, but since it is a special rule declaring intermingled and the Jetpacks also - You would need another rule set which gives an exception to the above , they might still count as Intermingled. But maybe some AnswerMod at the SG site can clarify ..... Cheers! Steele |
