Hi, I'm not an Epic player so the idea/taught maybe a little daft in Epic. In BFG it is stated that the Kroot Battle/War sphere can land on a planet earning assault points. Imagine these things landing during a battle bringing lots of Kroot reinforcements. Okay not on the actual battlefield, because the result would be crushed bodies everywhere.  Does Epic have rules for the assault landings by Battle/War spheres? |

There are not specific rules for landings of the size that you mention (and Ork Roks are a second example). Even in Epic, something this size would probably just thump into the table to flatten both armies! There is a 'Planetfall' rule by drop ships, etc and BFG vessels can make passes above the battlefield and fire down on it. The Manta is about the largest drop vessel in the game. |

Not quite. IIRC, the Gargant Bigmob armylist contains small Ork Roks as planetfall transports. |

I sit corrected.  Still, the principals remain (and I assume that the mini-Roks arrive via Planetfall as well).

I don't see why we could not use the BFG Kroot Sphere as an Epic scale Drop Ship/Lander ! Except maybe the cost !

I seem to remember Pixelgeek saying something about the difference between BFG Roks and Epic Drop Roks. Basically the Drop Rok is much smaller perhaps as broken off piece form a real Rok or something. I would still very mucgh like to see an Epic battle onboard an Imperial battleship or similar.... Now THAT would be cool! A purpose built 4x8' table would be quite a sight... Cheers! | |||

Oh man, that would be a superb project, loads of opportunities to go crazy with detail- lots of gothic architecture and massive industrial features, elevator shafts, power relays, everything.... Top idea. One that will have to wait for a while though, until I have some of my more conventional pieces finished. |

Hmm... cool idea. Naming... OK, lets see... So for a lessor Kroot Warsphere craft - I'm thinking it still starts off with "Kroot [something]" and then ends with one of various noun descriptions. (Nest, Egg, pod, Orb, etc.) 1) Race Kroot 2) Catchy Phrase - Planetary Drop - Sentry - Rapid Attack - Initial Engement - Engagement 3) and then the noun: - Nest - Egg - Orb - Shere - Dome - Rock - Meteor Therefore some examples might be, Kroot Planetary Drop Nest Kroot Sentry Orb Kroot Rapid Attack Sphere Kroot Battle Rock Kroot Engagement Nest etc... Ok, back to work now.

Well, I think I remember Jervis describing the smallest of the SM cruisers being 5 metres in length for a game of Epic  A Kroot war sphere would be HUUUUGE! Anyway how about a nice little Kroot Nest Egg - I'm sure they plan for their retirement too ? |
