hey all... so since drones are infantry and broadsides and crisis are light vehicles - my enemy can really just target my light vehicles with his AT shots and bypass my drones all together. That kind of stinks.

So drones really only force the at shot, they really don't act as alblative to the crisis and broadsides at all vs the AT shots do they?

I guess they still bolster the ranks and keep a smaller formation from potentially breaking early... but outside of that, what good are they with these formations?

Up to present, I've always taken the drones with the broadsides but now I'm thinking its probably a waste of points considering the light vehicle. In 40K, they are both infantry so it makes sense... in epic, I'm not sure it makes much since considering the cost...

Your thoughts?

How are you playing drones - and why?

Location: Utah, pick a Pacific Island the other half of the year.
Under the present Tau rules Drones that are part of a formation swallow all incoming shots AT/AP.

It's under the "Tau Drone" section

Quote Rules
"Drones also count as an AP and an AT target when the formation (they are part of) is shot at."
End Quote

Yeah well... I'll not go into how many games I've played and managed to completely miss this little detail...

Thanks Jaldon.
