I tried doing a "balanced" army but wanted to go with a mobile armored theme, so here is my 3000 point list...

12 Firewarriors
6 Devilfish
1 Ethereal
2 Hammerheads

12 Firewarriors
6 Devilfish
6 Tetras

4 Pathfinders
2 Devilfish
4 Pirahnas

4 Pathfinders
2 Devilfish
4 Pirahnas

4 Broadsides
Orca Dropship

5 Hammerheads
1 Swordfish

9 Stealthsuits

I haven't invested much in AA yet as most of the players here haven't delved into that much yet... anyway, any advice or room for improvement or anything I'm overlooking?  Thanks all!

You have lots of markerlights but not too many guided missiles. Consider including a Narwhal or some Stingrays.

I would take a Shas'o, if at all possible, with Tau, especially with so few and expensive formations as you have, failing some activation tests can really spoil your day.

Next, you can't have 6 Tetras as an upgrade, only 3 (each upgrade can only be taken once)

Very light on flak, very light on MW/TK (though you have a considerable amount of AT, which is always good).

No air.

However, your formations are *all* very large and upgraded, so you only get 7 activations in 3000 points... this can turn into a real problem. Whenever I take several large formations, I also include some cheaper ~200 points formations to keep the activation count up.

I cannot ever stress this enough, every army needs a Supreme Commander.

Get a Shas'o

Get a Moray, cause I like 'em :p

I'd also try to work in an eight activation into the list, Tau work better with more activations, well IMHO anyways.

Also Asura's points are good too.

Tau airpower is amazing - make sure you include at least one detachment, and definately use some Kroot, Tau are v vulnerable to CC, My assault/tactical marines shred them.

DarkOne26 is probably better at giving advice than me, I kill Tau, don't play them :).

That is two upgrades, I was just counting them together

Ok, so a Shas'O is needed, which means I'll have to include some suits in there somewhere.  I've upgraded most of the formations becuase they all seemed really small and I was worried about casualties/suppression affecting them.  The whole list seems smaller and spendy so I was trying build effective units that could last a bit in a firefight.  I wouldn't even know where to drop to get a Shas'O and some suits, or some Kroot into the list.  Thanks for the feedback so far guys, I need it!   :)  :)
