Current FAQ... 4.2.4 Flak Attacks

Q) Can units with weapons that don’t have an AA value be suppressed when making a flak attack?
A) Yes, and they only need to be within range as all ground units have a line of fire to flying aircraft.

Yeah unfortunately the guided missiles makes skyrays embedded in mech fire warriors and armoured units the hardest AA to suppress in the game. And no the GMs don't need something markerlit. The only way to suppress them is to make them the back of the formation relative to the aircraft so the BMs suppress the skyray not just range
