Has there been any thought/action given to creating a Kroot list? I've been looking at this 40k list and wondering if this would transfer well http://www.freewebs.com/pfreck/Kodex%2520Kroot%2520V4.2.pdf I know a great place to get some proxies ![]() |

It certainly would be nice if this list existed! Could be quite good fun pushing hordes of Great Knarlocs around the table... |

Here's another take on the Kroot, I love the Vulture kindred (winged Kroot). http://eastern-empire.com/downloads/kroot_mercs.pdf |

That list was used as the basis for the Kompletely Kroot list, here http://z8.invisionfree.com/KompletelyKroot/index.php? Which was a very good, well maintained and balanced list for quite a few years, but hasn't been updated for the current edition of 40k The list you linked to in your 1st post, I "think" is a new list someone on KK came up with on their own. I myself am bitterly disappointed in the treatment of kroot in netepic, but can't really comment on netEA other than to say, yes, kroot totally deserve their own list |

for what it's worth, I am currently planning on probably using kroot models to represent my Tanith list, with tau allies. I mean, its not a perfect fit (hammerheads as russ is a bit of stretch, krootox as heavy weapons teams fits ok) |

My problem with NE kroot (and this is probably not the place to discuss it, really, but oh well, maybe this will help guide someone making NetEA stats as well) is that they treat the kroot like a massive, undisciplined, horde, blob army. They have all the different kroot units grouping together into one big formation, then they added leadership issues unless a shaper is with the unit (actually making shapers work the opposite of how they did in the original Tau codex) Kroot should be operating in small bands, very mobile, with lots of infiltrate and scout and not a lot in the way of great big war machines/beasts. If a mechanic could be developed that represented the kroot laying traps and attacking from ambush, that would be great, but also very hard to do. |

I'm interested in a Kroot list, though its low down on a long list of other lists I want to play first. I'm not sure I'd want to see a giant Kroot war engine, a list of lots of deadly in engagement unarmoured scouts with no vehicle transports would play very differently. I fancy playing the Tau list some soon and am curious to use multiple Kroot units and see how they play as I liked to use them a lot in my 40k Tau list. The Kroot spacecraft the Warsphere doesn't use smaller transports but actually flies down and embeds itself in the planet as a giant town sized fortification. As I suggested least time a Kroot list was discussed I'd like to see this represented as an offtable option in the list. |

I've been in touch with some of our forum leadership and got the go ahead/support for a Kroot list. Tonight I pulled together a stats list for all the units minus the navy/big stuff. I've got my hands on some BFG stats for Kroot, but may need some help comparing these with current E:A naval units. Once I've done this and worked out some initial unit costings, I will post a list on a new thread |
