Hmmm, so the new 40k book is imminent. Rumours are so far 2 new fliers, a new suit, and Broadsides being repurposed to anti-flier/lv duty. Any thoughts so far?

The broadside thing pleases me; it always annoyed me that their piddly little rail guns were equal to the massive hammerhead mounted one, and they were in fact better as each broadside got 2. Re purposing them as rapid fire light rail guns is a lot more aesthetically pleasing.

The third phase list isn't going to change based on a new 40K codex, if someone wants to write a new army list based on it though they are welcome.

The commander suit is pretty cool, shame it's finecast.

I really like the broadside. Might even get one! - though that will probably change when I see the AU price ;D

Last word I heard is all of the ally choices got stripped back out and will be going into Codex: Allies or similar.

That seems to tally with there being no shots of Kroot, Vespids etc. in the Tau previews.

Someone should get a view of the Tau Codex itself soon (if they haven't already) to confirm whether allies are in or out.

Allies are still in there, there's a few pictures of the inside pages in the latest WD that show that the Kroot and Vespid are still in there. However since they didn't get any new models this time around the focus as been on the Tau aspect of the Tau Empire.

Allies codex is apparently just wishful thinking, according to some of the more reliable rumourmongers.
