Hi Guys,
Have been away for a while but am getting back in to Epic:A again now and as I finally got the bits I needed to finish my Tau force though I should start messing around with some lists, so here goes;

First Go, 4000 POINTS

That's my first attempt and is a bit of everything to be honest.

As a list of what I could field I have;

At least 8 Stands of Crisis Suits
21 Stands of Firewarriers/Pathfinders

6 Railheads
6 Ionheads
8-10 stands of Gun drones
8 Piranha
12 Tetra
6 Broadsides
6 Skyrays (Built) 12 unbuilt (could be converted in to other tanks just not sure what I need more of)
6 Barracuda
2 Tiger Sharks
2 Tiger Shark AX-1-0

So have at me and let me know what you think.

I think your crisis suits could do with an orca to fly them around, as they are they're quite slow as well as being a big points-sink, maybe drop one formation, add an orca for the others and a couple of skyrays to some formations for the extra guided missiles?

Check out steve54's lists on epic-uk.co.uk for some solid builds, he tends to use lots of co-ordinated fire orders early on, zipping the recons forward to mark something, then retaining and sustaining with HH+skyray guided missiles, keep the orca under the flak bubble and use it to pounce on enemy units threatening your half rather than deep striking your opponents blitz, they're pretty vulnerable to being intercepted and shot down

spaceships are fantastic also, a hero gives you two pinpoint attacks, perfect for sniping out void spinners/storm serpents/shadoswords/gorgons etc, with a bit of luck you'll kill one and wing another, they're handy against almost any DC3 war engine and anything with lots of armour with Tau can struggle to deal with

All this is from the perspective of an opponent however I've never used them, just played against them, I think I've only won 2 games, the rest have been humiliating defeats!

The list is ok, it has a good amount of activations for 4000pts and you have a decent mix of markerlight support and business formations. You also have reasonable AA.

But as you say the list does seem to be a case of can I fit one of everything into my army. Also as already mentioned Crisis can be brutal but they need to get into the correct possitions and so an Orca can be very useful. Maybe drop the AX-1-0 for a Hero and Orca and 25pts of upgrades or keep the AX-1-0 but drop the standard Tiger Sharks and one Bonded Team for an Orca and another Barracuda formation.

Thanks for the C&C guys,
I like the idea of the Tiger Sharks and would like to try to keep both units in ( I know they are a bit of a points sink but I love the models)

What about going down to one unit of suits to fit the Orca in and would I be better off with more FW in the formation rather than the hammer heads (which would be Ionheads...)

Am thinking 1 unit of 6 suits to go in the Orca and dropping the 2 HH from the FW but bulking them out to 10 FW and 5 Devilfish. The FW will remain the BTS and I will still have a hell of a punch from the crisis suits but am an activation down if thy don't come out to play turn one?

I've suffered at the hands of the 10 FW formation and it's a very nasty one, I say go for it, the changes you suggest sound good!
