Bringing this up from another thread http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=20330 I'm curious what most of you Tau players "think" about how many marklights in a 3000 pts force is adequate? From talking to some other players, seems 5 or 6 seem to be the average.

I think the answer is: As many as you can fit in the points without robbing your forces of actual fighting power :)

The more you can take the better off the Tau are. Once you've lost them you lose 50% of your firepower and it's usually downhill from there I find.

How do you figure losing 50% of your firepower? Seems a lot of the weapon systems seem to have comparable stats to marine or Eldar weapons without the marklights. Maybe I'm wrong?

No Guided Missiles... oh and your assault isn't anywhere near Marines and Eldar ;)

Hhhhhmmmmmmmmm. I can live without the guided missiles. As for assault, that's why I like that 30-75cm range. Poo poo on me if I'm dumb enough to get that close! :P
