Hi all, long time no post. Real Life(tm) keeps getting in the way of my gaming!

At any rate, while I was going through some old boxes in the process of packing, I found the old WD article (#263, from Dec '01!) with the named crisis suit weapons loadouts. I figured I should share these so that the info doesn't disappear. I know these aren't going to go into the regular list, but I figured that they would be useful for some of the alternates, like the Farsight Enclave.

I'm going to start with the 40k loadout, and then give my suggestion for what that formation would look like in E:A.

'Death Rain' configuration
40k: 3 Crisis suits, all with twinlinked Missile Pods, drone controller, and 2 gun drones.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with 3x twinlinked missile pods, and 4 gun drone stands.

'Sun Forge' configuration
40k: 3 Crisis suits, all with twinlinked Fusion Blasters and shield generator.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with 3x twinlinked Fusion Blasters. Maybe an Invuln save?

'Burning Eye' configuration
40k: 3 Crisis suits, each with twinlinked Plasma Rifles and target lock.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with 3x twinlinked Plasma Rifles.

Ke'lshan'Tsua'M'Padroch'Ul'syn configuration
40k: Crisis suit with two shield drones, twinlinked Plasma Rifle, and target lock; Crisis suit with flamer, burst cannon, and fusion blaster; Crisis suit with target lock and twinlinked Fusion Blasters.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with twinlinked Plasma Rifles, twinlinked Fusion Blasters, Flamer, and Burst Cannon.

'Brightwind' configuration
40k: Crisis suit with two gun drones, Plasma Rifle, Burst Cannon, and multitracker; Crisis suit with Fusion Blaster, Missile Pod and target lock; Crisis suit with Missile Pod, Plasma Rifle, and multitracker.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with 2 Plasma Rifles, 2 Missile Pods, Burst Cannon and Fusion Blaster. This isn't much different from the standard E:A Crisis stand, and I'm not sure the BC really adds anything to the unit.

'Darkfall' configuration
40k: Crisis suit with two Gun Drones, twinlinked Missile Pods, and a blacksun filter; Crisis suit with two Gun Drones, shield generator, and Flamer; Crisis suit with two shield drones, Flamer, and Fusion Blaster.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with twinlinked missile pods, two flamers, and Fusion Blaster; and 2 Gun Drone stands.

'Fireknife' configuration
40k: 3 Crisis suits, each with Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, and multitracker. Team has two Gun Drones and is Bonded.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with 3 Plasma Rifles and 3 Missile Pods.

'Blinding Spear' configuration
40k: 3 Crisis suits, each with Plasma Rifle, Burst Cannon and multitracker. Team has two Gun Drones.

E:A: 4 Crisis stands, each with 3 Plasma Rifles and 3 Burst cannons.

Lion's Crisis HQ configuration
40k: Shas'O or 'El suit with Plasma Rifle and Cyclic Ion Blaster; Crisis suit with Plasma Rifle and Airbursting Fragmentation Projector; Crisis suit with Plasma Rifle and Burst Cannon. I think they each had a Shield Generator and 2 shield drones, as well.

E:A: Crisis stand with 3 Plasma Rifles, Cyclic Ion Blaster, Airbursting Fragmentation Projector, and Burst Cannon. Invuln save and Commander.

Notes
1) Where there are more than 2 drones of any kind per team, I lumped the gun drones together into separate bases of ~6.

2) For those Crisis stands that have multiple weapons of one type, it may be easier to lump them into 'twinlinked' or 'multiple' weapontypes.

3) Way back around the v3 or v3.1 lists, there was a discussion about whether to run with the 'Jack of all Trades' Crisis suits, or to specialize. For the main list, the generalist formation won, but I think that it would be worth reviewing the decision for any Crisis-heavy alternate list, like Farsight.

Crisis suits already have an invulnerable save (representing the shield drones and shield modules they'd have).

Drone stands don't work that well in crisis suit formations, at they have a significantly worse save than the suits and still cause a blast marker when killed. Considering they're drones and expected to take fire, I always thought the grot rule for them would make a lot of sense.

Rather than a long list of specific variants, maybe just a crisis stand with 3 slots, and a list of weapons that can be put into a slot (I guess with the option to twin link a weapon, using 2 slots). Be hard to balance points cost for that though.
