We haven't heard jack from you guys in weeks. Any opinions on the feedback so far? When will we be likely to see an update anytime soon? |

The schedule is to test 5.1 until August if memory serves. Sure Honda/CS have been monitoring and will be back then. |

We remain in a period of playtesting and gathering opinions. One thing that we specifically wanted to avoid was the continuous repeat of opinions being thrown around with little or no actual playtest experience to back them up. The next set of revisions will continue towards the end of August, as long as we have enough actual reports and grounded experiences of the list in the heat of dice rolling. If we jumped in and started discussing the changes in detail that are being talked about - which currently are limited to the elite status of some units and the feasibility of Gun Drones - we will end up back on the path of a lot of heated debate and no reference games to draw on. Feel free to discuss this stuff, and we can revisit threads and bring them all together when the revision stage restarts. |

Well, it would be *REALLY* nice if the Army Champions were posting battle reports of their games so we could see how they're playing things and the experiences they're having. When an Army Champion doesn't post anything for almost two months, it feels more like abandonment than playtesting. Honda has mentioned multiple times about posting playtest/battle reports, but I don't believe I've seen a single one from him since he became sub-Champion and that doesn't reassure us huddled masses at all. To just seem to ignore the forum seems unacceptable to me. |

Things can be balanced and still *wrong*, and playtesting won't reveal that at all; that's the point of discussing things. Additionally, if playtesting is winding down and people are just "waiting for the update", why stick to an arbitrary "end of August" timeline if you've already got a good idea of the things you want to change? |

I don't see a pressing need for an update to the Tau list, unless there is some other deadline approaching (ERC army book project?) that requires ajustments sooner rather than later. |

Any batreps, E&C? I'm keen to know what you found in your games with the Tau. so we could see how they're playing things and the experiences they're having I'm not sure they are though... |

I'm wondering if the ambivalence to Tau is a direct consequence of the news from Forge world? I have to say my interest has dropped somewhat as without a ready supply of miniatures (ebay won't step in here, there are not loads of Tau armies that have sat in boxes since the mid nineties!). It hasn't helped that I've come into a supply of nids plastics and metals so will probably start work on them in the coming months. |

I went and found sources from all other 6mm producers. The army will not look like the cool Tau armies everyone else has, but it will be original and a dedicated force just for this list. It does not need to be GW or FW to be a Tau force |

So what have people found as proxies for Hammerheads (etc) and suits? I am using the ones on the right with different turret combinations for the base of all my Hammerhead type units. These are significantly different to signify the Tau IMO They are from Irregular Miniatures |
