So I started looking at the list from a more holistic perspective and looking for interesting builds to help get familiar with the changes. So, these have not been played yet, I'm sort of thinking outloud. Anyway, I thought I'd share some of these and if others are so inclined, then we can see through other peoples eyes, so to speak. Build A - 3000 pts 200 Battlesuit cadre 1 125 - Stealth Upgrade 100 - Drone Upgrade 100 -Supreme Commander 200 Battlesuit cadre 2 (BTS) 125 - Stealth Upgrade 100 - Drone Upgrade 125 - Crisis Upgrade 275 Stealth Support Group 300 Fire Warriors + Devilfish 75 - Skyray 125 - IC Hammerheads 300 Fire Warriors + Devilfish 75 - Skyray 125 - IC Hammerheads 150 2 x Tetras 4 x Piranhas 75 - 3 x Piranhas 225 Stingray Support Group 75 - Skyray 125 - Stingray Upgrade 3000 7 Activations The idea behind this list is to move into contact with the enemy, striking hard with the crisis suits, then consolidating with the Fire Warriors. The Stingrays will support where needed, lots of Skyrays will provide protection from predations from above. Build B - 3000 pts 375 Armored Hunter Mobile Cadre (RG-HH) BTS 125 - RG Hammerheads 125 - RG Hammerheads 25 - Networked Drones 375 Armored Hunter Mobile Cadre (IC-HH) 75 - Skyray 125 - IC Hammerheads 300 Fire Warriors + Devilfish 75 - Skyray 125 - IC Hammerheads 300 Fire Warriors + Devilfish 75 - Skyray 125 - IC Hammerheads 150 2 x Tetras 4 x Piranhas 350 Tigershark AX-1-0 Squadron 275 Tigershark Squadron 3000 7 Activations This is a "I'm coming at you with tons of tanks" list. The massive amounts of firepower are intended to destroy opposing formations in order to gain an activation advantage. It seems to be very vulnerable to assaults. It also doesn't have a SC, which is a bit of a risk. After playing the first shift will be to find room for a SC somewhere. Build D - 3000 pts 200 Battlesuit cadre 1 125 - Stealth Upgrade 100 - Drone Upgrade 100 -Supreme Commander 200 Battlesuit cadre 2 (BTS) 125 - Stealth Upgrade 100 - Drone Upgrade 125 - Crisis Upgrade 275 Stealth Support Group 275 Stealth Support Group 150 2 x Tetras 4 x Piranhas 75 - 3 x Piranhas 75 - 3 x Piranhas 150 2 x Tetras 4 x Piranhas 75 - 3 x Piranhas 150 2 x Tetras 4 x Piranhas 75 - 3 x Piranhas 350 Tigershark AX-1-0 Squadron 275 Tigershark Squadron 3000 9 Activations This list is a recon in force. The Air caste assets are there to haul their bacon out of the fire should they encounter something really hard. Anyway, this is what I would consider a "fun" list as it's quite fragile and needs to be played carefully. I also think that it can be played aggressively. I started on a Build C that would include a Manta, but I haven't made up my mind how to support it or exactly what its role will be. But then, that is part of the fun of making lists for me. But its only a draft right now. Who knows what may happen ![]() I'd picked the list before 5.1 was available and didn't check for changes before hand. To be honest next time out I'll probably drop the hero to get another ground or air activation in the list. |

If it does stay at 200 points, I'll actually have to consider whether I take it or not... at 150 points, 2 x MW2+ (TkD3) just seemed like the obvious choice to me... Like mini-Deathstrike Missile Launchers that the enemy can't stop! ![]() |

If you are at the point of making "agonising choices" then the cost is in the right area - 150 for the mini deathstrike did seem a bit 'obvious'. ![]() |

To steal a Nealhunt quote, In the "activation crazy world of Epic gaming in the UK" I'm a little worried at 9 activations plus the spaceship. If I could make it 10 and spaceship I'd say it was a dead cert every game at 150. 200 points will make it a real choice imo. |

Using Orcas, Barracudas, Pathfinders and Recon support formations does allow you to increase the activation count a bit, and the last two also provide the much needed ML capability for your HH GMs. And just for the record, why 18x HH rails? why not at least some Ion variants for AP capabilities? |

With the amount of GM's this list packs why do I need more AP? Plus the 75cm range is handy too. The only ground formation without a markerlight is the scorpion fish so that's not really a limit either. |
