There was some discussion in the Seeker thread regarding the French ERCs Tau list. It can be found here:
French Tau ListI thought it was interesting enough to deserve its own thread. My French is poor at best, but with some help form Google translator I can usually figure things out.
Some of the big differences:
MarkerlightsThey are more like a weapon system. They fire when the units fires, although they don't roll to hit. They can mark a unit within 30cm. Those marks can be used to fire GMs or re-roll missed shots.They also made GMs generally hit harder to compensate.
There are somethings about this that I like. The re-roll is a cool mechanic and does capture another aspect of ML performance. I like that a single ML stand can't mark every formation with 30cm. However, as was pointed out, it seems a bit fiddly to work with. I will likely give it a try though.
Unit Stat changesCrisis FF went up to 4+. The Fusion Blaster attack was dropped, but now gives MW in FF (not an extra attack though). Also, Shas'o and 'el give an additional FF attack rather than a shooting attack.This is an interesting change as well. The Crisis are better in a FF, but still I think reduced from where they could be. I didn't notice that any other FF values changed much, so this gives the Crisis suits a pretty unique role in the list. I tend to favor this middle ground approach to Tau FF values. I don't want them to be a full out FF army, but right now I think the current list is so phobic to any FF ability that some opportunities are being missed. Some FF ability in appropriate units seems good to me.
The hammerheads were split up and have different secondary weapons loadouts. Also, the armour changed to 5+ Reinforced rather than 4+.The RA is curious, I have no idea why that change was made.
The FF on Devilfish and Piranha is improved.While I like the Crisis bump, this doesn't seem as necessary.
Formation ChangesBarracudas can come in units of 2 or 4. 
Gun Drones are upgrade only. Heavy drones can be on their own.No Human Auxiliary.
Tetras and Piranhas are a combined formation

And well, lots of other little things too. As I said, some interesting, some looks fun, others are just bizarre. I think it will be good for us to keep an eye on how it develops over there. They might have some creative ideas worth adopting.
