Hi guys. Recent discussion has highlighted a split in the groups involved in discussion here. As AC, it is my job to step in, and I have possibly delayed too long in doing so. Essentially, one group states that there are serious balance issues with the list, and radical changes need to be made before it can be accepted, while the second group states that there are minor issues, but that these are alterations only. For the record, I belong in the second group. It appears that this divide has discouraged once-active members from visiting here. I would ask them to return. There are a few issues that still need to be addressed with the list - the lack of Fire Warriors being taken does need to be looked at. The potential balance of the core armour can be examined... although not necessarily changed if not required. The current list stands. I do not support culling units from the list. I dont necessarily want to add any more, but I do feel that what we have is interesting and has the essential flavour of the race. I also strongly believe that the units that we have not only can be balanced, but are not far away from this goal. We will not be dropping units in hordes. Similarly, I do not feel that two, split lists would have any positive affect, and would simply create two sets of discussions, resolving nothing. We will work with what we have. I will, in the next day or so, go through the various threads here, and attempt to clarify any positions and comments made. I will also highlight a few additional issues, and go through the change log to pick out anything that needs addressing first. My aim here is to get version 4.4.2 of the list released shortly, to give us a fresh, common starting point. Thanks. |

I also think that the Tau list is close to balanced, maybe a little strong but not by much. My beefs are: - Some elements of the army are redundant (Especially Fire Warriors). - There are too many non-canon vehicles (The Moray even has variants...). That's it. I regard the Tau list as fundamentally better-designed than the Codex Marine list. |
