We played a second game with these lists over the weekend and I got my but kicked even worse.

I tried to take the titan out in turn one. ?I got a few blast markers on it with a co-ordinated fire action and was going to try and do a little damage with the Tigershark which got shot down on 2x5+AA from the titan for which I failed both saves. ?I then dropped the Crisis battle suits in with the Orca drew the first round of combat then amazingly won on the second round of combat despite having a much smaller bonus to my roll only to find out that its fearless. ?After coming back on line for turn 2 I managed to take it down to 2 DC remaining on turn 3 with an assault by the Kroot which done two wounds.

I managed to fail an amazing amount of activations in the game but somehow just managed to prevent KL from getting any of the objectives somehow untill turn 4 when she acheived BtS. ?The tiebreaker ended up showing a massive difference in victory points as she still had a huge guardian formation that had sat all game back on her blitzkreig objective as well as the titan alive.

I just actually thought of something. ?When it comes to victory points does a titan on less than half wounds give away victory points? ?Though even if it does I still would have lost by quite a bit because it was something like 700 - 2225 probably one of the biggest losses I have had.

Now I am just wondering if I need to rethink my list, rethink my strategies with Tau or pray harder to the dice gods to avoid such bad luck.

Although I do note that I ignored my lesson from the previous game about avoiding the titan (I was just so sure I would be able to take it out...... grrrrr....... stupid fearless rule).

When playing air vs eldar with their ecellent flak you need to attack at extreme range at 45 degrees to the target - it helps escape. Don't forget ts can jink on the way out as well.

Great report but you do't need to record the activation roll - pass or fail is good enough!
