I admit I have never fielded it though and the first (and only) time I played it, it died after 3 rt batteries (siegemasters, with experimental rt AT ruling) shot it.

That sounds a little unlucky though.

Nevertheless, since the siegemaster batteries are (usually) immobile perhaps you should have planetfalled the Manta behind them :p

The chap I was playing didn't have a spacecraft. Also this was about a year and a half ago so a long ago version of the list.

As much as I love the look of the model, it's way down on my list of priorities because I just don't see why you'd ever use one in a game.

Agreed, overpriced for return *with my playstyle* presently.

There's a premium on that transport - but such things are for another thread in another list.

If the consideration is Manta v IA3, its a no-brainer for me. IA3.

All that said, I have both.

OK, thanks for that guys. I will collect IA3 from the show, and the Manta will wait until May (my birthday!). Thanks for the advice (I have too much EA Tau to paint up anyway!).
