The same could be said of version 5. though this tested list seems to be the loser in this process

I assumed that Neal was referring to the V5 list being playtested, not my proposal.

I would note that the discussion is done at this point and is ready for stress testing. I may incorporate some of the Q&A clarifications that have come up on the forum, but I don't think there are any changes to go in.

EDIT: Actually I tell a lie, I'd rather have an Orca Bomber in there so people can use their converted Orca models, instead of the missile strike Tigerfish, but I followed your (Honda's) request for a Tigershark variant.

six months

I'd prefer to see a shorter testing period, say 2-3 months, with a second 2-3 month period if nessesary, after which the Champion could hopefully set the list as finished/locked down.

At that point, emphasis can be shifted to variant lists.

Six months (with the prospect of more testing beyond that?) seems to be stepping towards more long cycles of testing, rather than the tight deadline I'd hoped for.

IMHO, if you set a tight deadline by which to have the list *finished*, it could serve to spur some serious stress testing.

I don't think I've ever been quoted before!  :;):    Not in a positive light anyway...   :sulk:

6 months isn't that long, especially when you consider that two of those months will be the dry months of Novemeber & December.  I am curious what doors are being opened for variant lists, however, and how that will work.  This is interesting...

Honda this makes me worry....

Personally, I believe E&C's list is the better list. It's streamlined and from what I've played with it(one game and some self testing on vassal), fun. I'm concerned about any "tampering" with it as it stands (1.09).

Let's wait and see what Honda actually does before starting the war drums, shall we?

If I/we believe his choices compromise the play style, or the way in which the list proposal reflects the background, then we can get all riled up... but let's have a little faith in the appointed army champion shall we?

Honda: I believe I shall be making no changes at all, and you can begin creating your document now, instead of in ten days' time.

However it seems that you for some strange reason seem to prefer post count instead of playtesting when it comes to selecting improvements.

That is unnessary Hena.

I posted my thoughts on what to do to make the Tau list match the background properly, and Honda is evaluating them.

The fact that I am the third most prolific poster on this board is neither here nor there, and you do Honda a disservice to say that my post count in any way affects his judgement.

Frankly Hena, you've been just about the only person who hasn't liked this proposal in any way, and I think that may be down to your well-known adversity to change than any details of the proposal.

By your own admission you haven't taken the proposal seriously at all, so perhaps you won't have noticed all the positive feedback it has been recieving.

Not really - a lot of people far prefer 5.x and are waiting to see how this plays out.

Well those people aren't speaking here, and so have decided not to participate in the TacComms army list development.

You (Steve54) said early on that you saw positive elements to the proposal, and only objected to the manner in which it was being proposed.

You no longer hold the view that there are good ideas in the proposal?
