Say I declare an air assault against a unit of crisis suits.
Do they get to fall back 10cm before my Thunderhawk comes onto the table or when it's landed? The latter seems the most logical but the way I read the ruling it seems to imply they fall back as soon as it's declared and rolled for initiative. Meaning the jump pack flee is only useful for trying to get closer to ff support or under an AA umbrella, when facing air assaults right?
Either way I suppose, If i'm using all Assault Marines i'm going to get into close combat with them anyway but with other units like tacticals, dreads and devs it will be tricky.

This was answered by JimmyGrill on the pld Epic forum. It doesn't look like a definitive answer, though. I seem to recall something firmer around here, but couldn't find anything.
CS, could we have a Tau FAQ either as a sticky post or as an addendum to the army list? It might work best if it were a part of the army list file, as each Q would stick around and any revisions to the basic rules would need to take it into account.

This has been answered before. The Jet Pack withdrawal does come immediately after the declaration of the assault, so against an air assault they aren't going to be able to prevent CC. They can still move to a position to recieve FF support from a friendly formation etc.
