I like to add the stealth upgrade to my crisis cadre. Adds some RA, markerlights, FF first strike and general bulk. (Crisis+crisis+stealth+shas'o)
The attention given to Morays, HH cadres/contingents has seen this formation draw less fire.
Its a good formation to lead co-fire with as well. The Shas'o has co-fire and once that formation jumps up close and shoots it lights up the target with markerlights for the second formation. If you can limit the amount of MW fire directed at this formation its good saves (and cover use) makes for good resilience.
I think my next list will include this FW cadre: FW+DvF+Skyray+Etheral+Piranhas. Since my FWs are often tasked with hold an objective I think this combination serves two roles nicely. The etheral makes them tough to shift and the skyray, devilfish and piranhas can shoot their GMs like artillery. (sorry RedDevil, I know you'll hate this idea).

Dont have the model, rather not proxy. Next FW order going out this week...
I plan on garrisoning them in forward cover if possable.

Broadsides are LV's and don't have scout - no garrison ability. May want to re-evaluate the use. Very slow. See orca recomendation. (I know... see FW order! )

Can you explain this "trick" |
teleport stealths forward - pray for dice god favor - get first turn... now pray for continued dice god favor and activate first formation of the turn to advance or sustain fire your GM formation into a hidden artillery battery - if you fail to activate, commence much dice god praise and use your SC... if you pass, carry on and wreck the artillery. If you fail, perform hold activation and hope your GM are in range to capitalize on the stealth's relative proximity to the enemy due to teleport - Oh yeah, vox your stealths to grab their ankes and prepare the enemy's gift...
A-X-10s: Think I should go 1 Formation of 2, or 2 Formations of 1?
word on the street is that 1 formation of 2 is stronger than 2 formations of 1.
Depending upon whether you need seperate activations and plan to deal with lessor formations, I would go with 2 formations of 1... however, if you expect heavy resistance and want the option to see-saw your units during AA flak attacks and movement, then take 2 in 1 and use consentrated fire.
For my playstyle, I like to go with 2 formations of 1... however, I typically take more 'heavy hitter' long range formations that you do. I also like to be very mobile. Your broadsides may become ostrasized on the field and require more movement that you are anticipating. Furhtermore, you may find that your crisis take longer than you'd like to become effective due to range.
A combined formation of A-X-10 for consentrated FP is probably warranted in your lists case. They are going to be one of your main 'heavy hitters' here.
Cheers,
